Nintendo Wii U: Nintendo Of America President Demos Wii U, Zelda Skyward Sword And Kid Icarus On TV

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime appeared on US show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to give American audiences a taste of what Nintendo has to offer this year and beyond. The first title Reggie demonstrated was Kid Icarus Uprising. Reggie decided to show off the AR Cards rather than show off actual gameplay of the Nintendo 3DS title. Next up was the fantastic looking Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword which provides a great showcase for Wii MotionPlus. Lastly Reggie Fils-Aime brought out the Wii U and reiterated to Fallon that the console will be out sometime after April 2012.

  1. Can’t care less about that AR card game with Kid Icarus (Hey Nintendo, just bring us some AR Pokémon, wich would make more sense!). On the other hand, I’m pretty much excited about the next wii Zelda.

  3. Lol his reaction to the skeleton, he so wanted to play that. The video was going well until at the end where all the audience got the game, there I got all jealous.

  4. Just watched it on youtube and there was a comment made by someone that raises concerns about the stalfos: how Jimmy was able to defeat it so easily by first stunning it with a blow and then spamming attacks while it was stunned; in short negating the need to use the motion plus to get past the enemy’s defenses. However I think they just lowered the stalfo’s HP for that demonstration lol :D

    1. What conserns me is that you don’t have to place a bomb to finish them off, how it’s traditionally suppose to be?

  5. Zelda was nice, but no Wii U demo? Just a “here’s the console, hold the controller, and it’ll be out ‘sometime’ next year?” Ugh, I would have liked at least ONE new piece of info.

  6. I think I made mistake not going to New York to see his show yesterday. Free Zelda? Yes, please! :D

I would’ve liked them to play at least a bit of one of the Wii U tech demos, but whatever.
