Nintendo: Activision Register GoldenEye Reloaded Domain Names

If Activision’s domain name registrations are correct then it appears as though the development team behind the well received GoldenEye 007 are currently planning a brand new GoldenEye title. There’s no more information such as platforms, or if the game is a direct sequel to GoldenEye 007, but as soon as I hear anything I’ll make sure to let everyone know.

  1. GOLDENEYE 007 FOR WII WAS A PILE OF STINKING HORSE CRAP COMPARED TO IT’S N64 PREDECESSOR – THE ORIGINAL WAS NEW, INNIVATAVE AND CHALLENGING.

THE WII VERSION WAS A BY THE NUMBERS SHOOTER – BORING AS F**K

TAKE IT BACK TO IT’S ROOTS..IF U CAN SIMPLY REVAMP OCARINA OF TIME…DO THE SAME FOR GOLDENEYE… IT MADE NINTENDO WHAT THEY ARE TODAY.. PAY SOME HOMAGE :-)

    1. IS YOUR CAPS LOCK BROKEN? Also I kinda liked the new version. :) it’s impossible to do a proper OoT remake as the rights to the original game actually belong to Rare, who is now owned by Microsoft and the Bond lisence belongs to Activision.

    2. Anonymous, you’re a moron. By today’s standards, Goldeneye on the N64 WAS a by-the-numbers shooter. The remake was very faithful and paid a boat-load of homage, saying otherwise shows you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Also, the caps-lock spam doesn’t help. It just makes you look even more stupid.

  2. I keep rooting for the original to make the VC, but this original game is in rights limbo with activision having the bond rights and rare having the original rights.

    1. They should hand EA the Bond rights again. They did the second best job behind Rare, who doubtfully will never work for Nintendo again. The GoldenEye remake was pretty good and all, but it still looks too much like Call of Duty. Activision never creates fresh, new engines which is their main problem. I’m not really looking forward to GoldenEye 2 if Activision are the ones developing it. I think it’s about time Rare swallows their ego.

      1. Swallow their ego? That’s not the problem. The problem is the fact that Rare is owned by Microsoft. What needs to happen is you need to think before you type or at least do some research.

        1. No offense, but you need to do the research. Rare and Nintendo worked with each other back in the day (the SNES and N64 era), until Rare left Nintendo because they felt Nintendo have become “inferior”. But it’s okay, I totally understand if you’re a newer gamer.

  3. I love the remake. It stayed faithful to the original while adding modern gameplay. The balance between action and stealth was good. You pretty much had the option to do whichever you like most. Having said that, I don’t see why this is exciting news for Nintendo fas like that Timesplitters article. I know Nintendo owns some of the rights for Goldeneye, but that’s for the original game. Activision fully owns the rights for James Bond games, so this could appear on any system since now there’s no word loyalty anymore, just contracts, which is understandable since at the end of the day, people need to put money on the table and they go where they can get that money.

  4. @ Steven.

N64 version INTRODUCED Weapons that you had to reload… location sensitive damage.. a sniper rifle that actually zoomed in.. and still one of the best same-screen multiplayer modes ever created.. at that time it was a serious breakthrough.. and believe me i still play it regularly on my N64 (along with Oot)

On the Wii i just found it to be simply “another shooter”.

and btw.. i have a master’s degree.. i am FAR from stupid.. but i am highly opinionated

  5. here we go again. they’re gonna try and capitalize on the goldeneye name to create a crappy game that people are gonna buy because, hey it has goldeneye in the game so it has to be good…right?

    don’t believe me?

but then again this isn’t ea. activision’s not that stupid to attempt that, are they?

  6. Maybe it’s going to be a port to the PS3 and/or the 360 the same way Houe of the Dead Overkill and No More Heroes were ported.

As for Rare, sure didn’t all or most of the team from there that was involved with Goldeneye and Perfect Dark leave to form Free Radical which explains the enjoyability of Timesplitters? Also I think I remember reading somewhere, maybe here, that Rare are allowed to make games for the 3DS

  7. My B.S. Degree was aquired by growing up in the 80’s and watching video games develop – from pong to portal 2 – so i kinda know what i’m on about

don’t try to attack that which you don’t understand

god the hell u can cause by having an opinion these days.

  8. With black beans, or you’re getting ready for business your first company phone bill and your checking account information to open this account. There are a lot easier. Equipment list w/ market value any leased equipment?
