Nintendo 3DS: Super Mario 3D & Mario Kart 3D Named And Dated For Nintendo 3DS!

Wow, what a day it’s been for Nintendo news thus far. We’ve already heard that the Nintendo 3DS is receiving a price cut and existing 3DS customers are entitled to ten free NES games and ten free Gameboy Advance games via the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console.

Nintendo has also announced today that Mario’s next 3D adventure on the Nintendo 3DS will be called Super Mario 3D Land and will be released this November. Nintendo also revealed that the forthcoming Mario Kart game for the 3DS will be simply titled Mario Kart 7 which is due for release in December. Good day for Nintendo news, huh?

  1. wow thats pretty amazing, can’t wait for both, the names are quite kwl, dusnt matter too much about the names anyway, i dunno which one im more excited about.
also how do we get the free NES games? I’v had my 3DS since release, is that why we get them because of the price cut and we don’t benefit from the price cut?

    1. I already did… like 4-6 weeks ago. $10 on each, will be heading in soon to pre-pay the rest when I trade in that horrid Wii Play Motion.

  2. People seem to ignore that Nintendo is doing all this mainly to please investors after posting the company’s first loss in its 122-year history.

      1. Oh yes it will, i think it will be the best mario kart ever made, hopefully.
but the name is a little wierd ><

  3. The price cut comes to no surprise. People aren’t in a hurry to buy a 3DS, and Capcom canning “Mega Man Legends 3” only made things worse for Nintendo. On the plus side, 20 free V.C games sounds cool, and might help sales a bit. Just wondering what the terms are.

And “Super Mario 3D Land” and “Mario Kart 7”? So it’s a return to “Mario Land”? And MK7 sounds too simplistic, but I’ll take what I can get.

    1. Super Mario 3 (minus the D), is what most of the game’s inspiration is from. The land part might have something to with it being a handheld Mario game.

  5. That’s weird. I was under the impression that Mario Kart would come out around September or Octuber; at the very least, I though it was going to come out before Mario 3D Land (gotta get used to the name now)..

  6. I dont know why, but I just dont think Super Mario 3D Land, Or Mario Kart 7 are the titles.
Nintendo would not risk people thinking that Super Mario Land and Super Mario 3D Land are the same think, only the latter is with 3D visuals.

    They sound OK, I guess.

  7. Also, For Super Mario 3D land, I hope Its relesed like, Nov. 1, So I dont have to wait for Christmas

Ok, The name is starting to grow on me. And I guess it makes scence. 3D for its both the 3D Nintendo 3DS is Known for and the 3D used for SM64, and Land for the first portable Mario game, a side scroller. They are a mix of each other.

      1. Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario Kart Double Dash!! Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 7 Mario Kart Arcade GP 1&2= 9 The arcade ones ARE Mario Kart Titles…. But SPIN OFFS!?!?!?!?!?

Mario Wiki Is EVIL for telling me false info….

  8. Looks like Nintendo is anticipating the PS Vita and is trying to build a firm fan base before they can hit the shelves. Smart move.

  10. This holiday season is gonna be sick. I’m inclined to think that a 3DS bundle may appear for probably the Mario game.

  11. I love how the next Mario Kart will be numbered! Mario Kart 7, while it may seem unoriginal to some, it quite original for the series. Brings all the games together in my opinion. Each new Mario Kart is an evolution of some sort over the previous in the series. It’s a series that should be numbered. And lets face it, the titles of past Mario Kart games are either not good, or more unoriginal than simply numbering them. Mario Kart: “Double Dash!! Mario Kart “”64,” “DS,” “Wii.” lol

I feel that the simple “7” carries a lot of wight with it. I wonder if Retro Studios is to thank for the title.
