As I’m sure the majority of you are aware today is the last day for you to be eligible to claim your twenty free Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console games. To get your free games you will need to have logged into the Nintendo 3DS eShop before 11:59 p.m Eastern time today. Make sure you remember to do it otherwise you won’t be able to claim your free games!
- Starting Sept. 1, Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors will be able to download 10 NES™ Virtual Console™ games at no charge and before they are available in the Nintendo eShop to the general public. These games, including Super Mario Bros.™, Donkey Kong Jr.™,Balloon Fight™, Ice Climber™ and The Legend of Zelda™, are slated to become paid downloadable games, but Ambassadors get them early for free. Once the paid versions of the games are posted to the Nintendo eShop later in the year, the updated versions will be available to Ambassadors for download at no cost.
- By the end of 2011, Nintendo will provide Ambassadors with 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games. These include games like Yoshi’s Island™: Super Mario™ Advance 3, Mario Kart™: Super Circuit, Metroid™ Fusion, WarioWare™, Inc.: Mega Microgame and Mario vs. Donkey Kong™. These games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on the Nintendo 3DS in the future.
Already got my confirmation :). Just got Cave Story last night, that is one EPIC game. and 2 street passes in 2 days, the 3DS must be getting those sales… (before I was lucky for 1 a month)

Didn’t need to download anything. If you have a news post about the program, then you’re in. If not, perform a system update, reconnect to the shop and check again for the news post.

No, you don’t. You logged in eShop AND received a message, in the “News” section of the eShop, saying that you are an ambassador? Then you’re in!
That’s only in the States I believe. Those in the UK will see a video on the Nintendo 3DS eShop titled The Ambassador Program. You should also get a SpotPass notification.

Search “Ambassador” on the e-shop, it’s no longer on the main menu of the e-shop. hope this sorts you out mate. Might be a bit late by now but I’m sure it’ll be fine as long as you got on =]

Does anyone know when the new paper mario game for the 3DS is coming out? Also, this is going to be an entirely new game, correct? Not just a remake?
What I’ve heard is next year (like Jan-Feb). The “major” titles this year are Mario 3D Land and Mariokart 7. Kid Icarus is supposedly Nov/Dec. Others like Paper Mario, Luigi’s Mansion 2 are on deck for early next year (from what I heard). Smash Brothers 3DS in a couple of years.
Should be a new game, haven’t heard anything about it being a remake.
It’s a 100% new game. It comes out next year, I think, but it’s NOT a remake :D Oh, and Smash Bros. isn’t gonna come out in the next couple of years, if you ask me. I think it’ll be in development for at least 3 years, probably more, and development hasn’t actually started yet, at least that’s what we heard last.
I’m trying to be hopeful. It stinks they are doing the Wii U and 3DS ones side by side. I understand to want to connect the 2, but I’d rather they be completed separately and not dependent on each other. Otherwise we could get both sooner I’d think.

Totally off subject, wouldn’t a classic-style Tony Hawk Pro Skater revival be a great fit for the 3DS? A brand new game would be awesome, but I would still gladly throw money at a remake of THPS 1 and/or 2. Imagine grinding rails and jumping for hidden tapes in 3D, playing HORSE battles with random people around the world via WiFi, getting new decks periodically through Street/SpotPass…

If you’re in the US then click the news icon and you should get a message about the ambassador program. If you’re in the UK you’ll get a video titled ambassador program.

If you logged into the Nintendo 3DS eShop after Nintendo announced the games then you should be in. If your from the States click the News icon and if your from the UK click the 3DS ambassador program video.
The Ambassador program video is not on eShop now sickr, well I can’t find it. I have watched it on there and got a spot pass notifcation though.

What do you think the chances of getting the original Metroid game in the NES collection are?
I’d say pretty high since they’ve already confirmed the original Mario Bros and original Zelda; plus the Metroid 25th anniversary just happened (though they advertised Metroid Fusion as the celebratory game for it)
Probably that of the chances of getting Minish Cap. If they are mainly doing Mario, Zelda, Metroid games, chances are higher (seems vast majority of those announced fill those buckets). If they are stretching out to get Kirby, or other Nintendo IPs, probably a lesser chance.
I’d like to see Link II over Metroid unfortunately. Although Metroid would be much easier with the save states.

Does anyone know if you can sign up for the ambassador program by registering your 3DS through club nintendo in the US? My 7yr. old nephew has one but he and my sister don’t know anything about wifi and I’m not there to help them set it up right now.
