Nintendo of Australia has told technology blog Gizmodo that the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program has been extended to September 30th. This will give those gamers who purchased their Nintendo 3DS before August 12th plenty of time to register for the twenty free Virtual Console games. All you will need to do is download a PDF from Nintendo Australia’s website and post it along with proof of purchase.
Instead of being automatically registered for the program by connecting to the Nintendo eShop, 3DS owners will now have to download a PDF from Nintendo Australia’s website, and post in that form along with proof of purchase. You’ll have until September 30 to do so.
Now if only the us did it…
Oh, phew. I thought for a moment that they were going to offer the free games to purchasers after the price drop, which would have been a right kick in the teeth.
…What? That’s stupid! I bet heaps of people that thought they were going to get their games just by connecting aren’t going to hear about this, and won’t get them!
Nintendo is mad.

Do you still need to do the PDF thing if your not Australian and have connected to the 3DS e shop?
No.
So like, if I’ve connected to the eShop, do I need to do this PDF thing as well, or am I right?
i realy dont understand
no i get it now
That is WAY too much work for Nintendo to give out. It’ll take a long time to go through forms sent in and by the time they do it’ll be September 29th
Thats hecka stupid
Its still kinda sad. I’m sure there’ll be some people who own a 3DS who have misplaced their receipts who will get screwed.
As long as the UK doesn’t make me do this I’ll be happy.
Thats some hard work to do. (Fill out a PDF and proof of purchase)
is that in the uk
They should change „instead“ to „additionally“ :x
IM CONFUSED, can some1 please tell me, does the UK have to do this? or is it JUST Australia??
It said nothing about UK. It only said Australia.
For the love of god. Would all you people who are complaining about it being too much work, or too hard to do this, or nintendo making it too complicated, please shut up. They are giving out twenty free games. Even at four dollars a piece, that’s eighty dollars worth of software. I am getting so sick of everyone complaining about the ambassador program, and the 3DS in general. If you don’t like the 3DS, don’t buy it, but don’t complain that you aren’t getting the games. And for those who say it is too much work to download a PDF file, fill out a form electronically and send it back in, I weep for your future if something that takes all of ten minutes is too much work for you.
Chill man lol If people complaining on internet is bothering you that much, I think you are way too overly sensitive and getting mad over………….. internet.
No, he has every right to complain, and he makes a very good point. You don’t have to be over sensitive to get annoyed.
Well, what if you lost the proof of purchase?
Kill yourself?
lolz
AMEN!
this is only if u didnt connect to the eshop in time I think
Guys, calm down. This is for people who bought a 3DS before the price-drop, but were too late to
connect to the eshop. Everything is okay if you connected to the eshop before the price-drop.
Good god guys this is only for people who didn’t connect to th eShop before August 12th. Everyone who did connect won’t have to do this.
“Instead of being automatically registered for the program by connecting to the Nintendo eShop, 3DS owners will now have to download a PDF from Nintendo Australia’s website,”
It doesn’t say that owners who already connected don’t have to do this. It specifically says that “instead of being automatically registered…. ….3DS owners will now HAVE to…”
“The deadline for registering for the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Programme by connecting to Nintendo eShop or performing a system update has now passed. However, Nintendo 3DS owners who purchased their systems before August 12th are still eligible to join the programme and receive 20 free games from September.”. HOWEVER… are still eligible! The few who said you don’t have to do both are correct! “Instead” is because of now past aug 11th u do this!!
All those that went into the eshop before August 12 are automatically registered. All those who haven’t yet (in Australia) will need to provide proof of purchase. This to stop those who purchased it after the price drop from also getting the free games.
Ambassadors who signed into the eshop before August 12 get the free games starting on Sep 1st. Those who haven’t and need to provide proof of purchase (before Sep 30th) will get them later.
That isn’t very clever. I mean, mine is signed up to the program already so if I had a receipt, I could just pass that on to someone who has just brought a 3DS with the price cut in effect.
Although this article only mentions Australia, something similar is coming to Europe too (http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/systems/nintendo_3ds_ambassador_programme_44250.html) .
When I bought my 3DS, my SN was scanner by the retailer – presumably for printing onto the receipt (though I’d have to check to make sure).
Awesome. So atleast some Australians get to take advantage of the price cut and free games. Not that I care about free games I already have, but it’s good to know.
Well, this is good. Nintendo gave people plenty of time to just connect to the eShop and become part of this program. The method they’re using right now may be a pain, but they didn’t really have to do it since it’s not their fault if there were people who couldn’t register for it. Actually, the program was first for early adopters first and then for those who wanted the games. They can’t simply make an easy way like connecting to the eShop after the price drop has happen.
wait… so if we now have to do this too… or is it just australia
It’s just at this point austrailia, but they don’t HAVE to, if they’ve already connected to EShop
This is just Australia wright ? I have already connected to eshop before the deadline(I live in the uk)Do our free games come September 30th or September 1st?????
This means chances our the first few games will be released on the e-shop update on thursday the 6th. This will only be the priority versions for most however and some we might not even get the priority versions till later.
Ok at first i was confused…but now i’m ok This is only for Australia right?!.
Plz tell me this is just australia is it? And is it just Australia who get there game on th 30th? in other countries the games arrive on septem 1st, correct??????????????
I’m pretty sure this is designed to benefit people who purchased their 3DS before August 12 who HAVEN’T gone online (or can’t go online). So if you have gone online, you’ll be fine.
Don’t quote me on it – just makes sense to me.
wow, its surprising how stupid most people are, the post clearly says Australia, if you dont live in Australia why even bother asking? Lol
This is so damn confusing. I hope my 3DS is registered or I will be PISSED.
This is only available to the people who purchased a 3DS before the 12th August and have not been able to go online. – Its not available (from what i’ve read) to people who buy the console now.
Nintendo of Europe is also doing a similar thing with an online confirmation website but its only available to people who purchased a console before the 11th / 12th August and yet again proof of purchase is required.
So does everywere but Australia get there games on the 1st of September? Australia gets there free games on the 30th correct?

This article needs the fact that this is AUSTRALIA ONLY in the title.
Yes but do our games still come on September 1st? Does that mean that Australia gets them September 30th?
This also needs to be answered. Why did Nintendo think this was a good idea again?
What if you live in America, and you bought a 3DS before August 12th but weren’t able to sign into the eShop before the 12th?
Sorry dude, I don’t think you made it.
I think you might be able to get in if you have proof of purcahse althoug I don’t think it’s in America were you can do this
Does anyone know, do we get our games September 1st and Australia get them September 30th???
I also want to know the answer to this someone plz tell me!
