Nintendo Wii: Xenoblade Chronicles For Wii Continues To Suffer Stock Shortages

European online video game retailer Shopto has told UK trade publication MCV that Xenoblade Chronicles is suffering from stock shortages due to unprecedented last-minute demand for the title. Clearly demand has already exceeded Nintendo’s expectations so this can only be good news for US Wii owners.

“There is more stock coming in. We’re expecting more back in next week. I think Nintendo were just a bit short on first week’s shipping.”

“There was an increase in pre-orders on Monday and Tuesday, which caught us unaware.”

  1. This looks good for US/CAN Wii owners (in terms of sales & us actually seeing a release), but it still leaves me frustrated & confused. In today’s world of social media when a game like this get’s such immense hype worldwide WHY are there shortage issues? WHY is it taking so long to get to North America? How could they not know they have a hit game on a console that is starving for a good RPG? What are they afraid off? Who is Xenoblade’s competition, the new Zelda in November? There are ZERO hit JRPG’s on the market right now and about as many hit RPG’s you can count on two hands this generation. Namco & Nintendo cut the BS and give the world this game already!!!! And hire more peeps to print the Euro copies, it’s 2012 there’s no excuse for this sh*t.

    1. What he said. ^^^^

Giving us Xeno now (in the US) and Zelda in November would = $$$ for Nintendo… So what are they waiting for?

    2. Nintendo didn’t want to take a chance with a last minute RPG most NA gamers hadn’t heard of (I certainly hadn’t, but it looks FANTASTIC and I’m sorry I didn’t get wind of this until earlier) for a console that they’re fazing out ASAP. Since they lost money on the 3DS price cut, causing most Ninty bigwigs to lose part of their paychecks, they didn’t want to go all aggressive ad campaigning (which they almost always did and should have in this case) because they didn’t want to lose more money on a third party game (Ninty’s mind set strikes again!) when Skyward Sword is around the corner and will make them tons of cash. They have, and always will feel like third party games won’t rake in $$$ so they stick with their stuff which always sells phenomenally.

    3. NoE predicted that the game would sell like rotten horse shit (RIGHTFULLY, in a wrong way. Like, they choose the safe route, but ended up being wrong. They made a good decision though, cause from a business percpective, any sane corporation wouldn’t have looked at the Japanese susess story of a game and think, “This game might do well here.” Because of a recent WiiU announcement and they silent passing of the Wii upcoming. So safe, not dangerously stupid.) And NoA was thinking, “Hey, I don’t wanna puplish this stupid chink game, nobody is gonna buy this PoS.” in NoA’s case they were being dumbasses.

  2. NOA need to realise this is an early sign that the game is being sold very well.

Anyway, I’ll most likely order it tomorrow from Amazon, if not as soon as I get some money in.

  3. THESE ARE GOOD SIGNS! PLEASE KEEP IT UP EUROPE! I WANT THIS GAME BADLY! MY Wii IS STARVING FOR A NEW GAME, ZELDA CAN’T SATISFY IT!!

  4. I’m usually the type to pre-order these things. Just haven’t done it yet because I’m still owed like £70 from friends. Buying this soon as they pay me back though. That’s 1 more sale.

  5. I want to thank every european who bought the game! Thank you so much keep it up and we’ll soon be able to play in noa.

  6. Hey, Reggie. Remember when you said you and the rest of NoA would be watching the European sales very closely? Remember how you said that would determine whether or not you’d release Xenoblade in North America. Well…

I think you’ll agree it’s time for Xenoblade to meet North America.

      1. Even if the action of scheduling the release isn’t underway, I think NoA should at least have their hands ready. I trust they do.

      1. Copy paste the address bar. I honestly didn’t think that the video would show up here on the website, I thought it would be just the link.

  7. I have neglected SO many responsibilities to play this game, since I started it. I’M SORRY, DISHES IN THE SINK AND CLOTHES ON THE FLOOR, BUT I REGRET NOTHING!

  8. Amazon UK has just ran out of copys… Very good sign for America, piss taking for me… CURSE MY ERGE TO BUY A BUNCH OF GAMECUBE GAMES AND MAKING ME POOR!!!
