Nintendo 3DS: Nintendo Partners With DreamWorks And More To Deliver New 3D Content For 3DS

Nintendo of America has announced via a press release that it has partnered with DreamWorks Animation, 3net and Blue Man Group to provide additional video content for the Nintendo 3DS. The videos, like all 3D content on Nintendo 3DS, can be viewed without the need for special glasses.

DreamWorks Animation will provide two new Halloween-themed animated shorts that will premiere on the Nintendo Video service this month. For a limited time, the videos will be available exclusively on Nintendo 3DS. The first video is available starting today and features characters from the studio’s 2009 release Monsters vs. Aliens. Another video featuring the three little German pigs from the Shrek franchise will appear later this month.

In addition, 3net, a joint venture of Discovery Communications, Sony and IMAX, will provide short-form video content from the 3net network’s original series on an ongoing basis including Bullproof, the story of four bull riders; Feeding Time, an up-close look at adorable animals such as pandas, penguins, lemurs and otters; and Building the Brand, a series that explores the creation of some of the world’s most iconic products.

The Blue Man Group series of videos culminates this month with the sixth and final video, “The Remote,” which showcases Blue Man Group’s signature blend of humor, infectious music and theatrical flair. The videos will reappear occasionally on Nintendo Video on a rerun basis.

  1. Nice but I wish they gave us an option to save videos. On the plus side, the final Blue Man Group video will appear. I didn’t find those entertaining in the very least and the 3D is barely noticeable.

    1. I actually really enjoy the Blue Man Group videos. I notice the 3D in every one, and I think they do a really good job. But it’s impossible to appeal to everyone. It’s too bad you don’t like them.

      1. I rarely notice the 3D in blue man group, mostly because the group sucks. I guess if I had the mentality of a 6 year old, I might like their videos. So far, their quality is a joke, there is nothing entertaining about them, and the 3D is barely noticeable.

    2. I was just thinking the complete same exact thing, I wanted to save some of those animated videos including the 3d machine invention one. I also found that Blue Man Group ideas were somewhat boring and predictable.

  2. Aslong as they continue with the Oscar’s Oasis videos, im happy. I actually find that really funny and often find that the highlight of when my 3DS is online.

  4. Why not pixar? Nintendo seems to avoid anything that has to do with Apple, actually this further shows Nintendo admitting Apple an indirect threat, if not a competitor. Maybe I’m just overthinking this tho. zelda 3DS >>> entire iPhone games library

    1. Um that’s not fully saying anything do you know what Nintendo is planning NO! Do you know if they asked Pixar and they said no meaning Apple is afraid NO! So dont assume things if you dont know what is going on!

        1. Nah, I don’t think that’s the case with business, there are Apple stuff that runs on Microsoft and vice versa. I find Dreamworks better anyway. Pixar appeals to kids more, something I want to stray from. Nintendo is balanced.

          1. What is this I don’t even?

You think Dreamworks is better than Pixar? That’s LAUGHABLE! You are quite the entertainer, you. ;)

          2. Saying pixar is for kids is like saying Nintendo is for kids. People need to learn to see what does not meet the eyes.

  7. I don’t know why, but I detest the Blue Man Group. I understand they’re creative, but they all act catatonically stupid. Unfortunately, I only click on their videos just so I can stop the “new video” blinking light. I realize not every video is intended to appeal directly to me; but, please Nintendo, more Red Bull challenge and animated shorts.

  8. I just downloaded the Dreamworks video and it is awesome in my opinion. I’m going to miss the 3D Machine video though.
