The Nintendo 3DS is still holding its own in Japan as it remains the best-selling platform in Japan. This week saw the Nintendo 3DS outselling the PlayStation Portable by 2 to 1 even though Square Enix released Final Fantasy Type-O exclusively for the platform.

yeah seriously what gives? why would anyone ever get something that is so dang old? i would so much rather spend a little more and get something that isn’t already obsolete.
PS Vita is out next month… Most probably prospective buyers are waiting for that one.
No, it’s because there are games still coming out for the PSP that people want. PSP sales got a boost this week from Final Fantasy Type O. Most people would also need a PSP since the Vita does not have a UMD drive and not all PSP games are available for PSN download. It’s one of the reasons the PSP Go failed.
Lol they still sell PS2? i get if they have a PS3 that isnt backwards compatable.
The title is misleading: the 3DS outsells the PSP MORE than double!! :P

I’m surprised people in Japan are still buying 360’s…didn’t they get discontinued in Japan?
Retail space for those were reduced, but some stores did remove them. They’re still available through their online stores.

Don’t get suprised. The 3DS had been selling like rock candy in Japan. And the PSP sold very well in Japan, and everywhere else is pretty bad, and the 3DS is big in Japan. Ok, and youre being sarcastic. Am I right?
The PS2 outsold the 360 and ps3 frequently when those came out, so I don’t see the point in your comment.

If you think about it enough, you’ll remember that the 3DS is new and all ages are getting it. When the PSP came out, it was the same event basically. My point is people are always gonna get the PSP because there’s always new people. There’s also actually a chance that the 3DS coild outsell the PSV for the overall time since the 3DS is for all ages.(just more embarrassing for older people)
