Nintendo Wii U: Wii’s Drawsome Tablet Will ‘Test The Market’ For Wii U

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot claims that the company’s recently announced Drawsome tablet for the Wii ‘will help test the market’ for the Wii U before Nintendo’s next console hits stores sometime after April 2012.

“What’s extremely interesting is it’s also a way for us to test the market for the Wii U, as the products we create for [Drawsome] will be helping us to understand what the problems are going to be for consumers,” he said. “So it’s a way to get into the tablet process for a console that is in homes.”

    1. I feel sad, as THQ needs more moneyz right now, not Ubisoft ripping them off. I say, instead of making a new tablet, just hop on the bandwagon and make use of the existing one. Because, I am not buying two wii tablets!

    1. its not for you, its aimed at the casual market to see how they respond to a tablet, its actually helping the wiis casual crowed to aknowledge or persuade them into getting the WiiU. its actually a good thing for nintendo… if the casual market responds well to it that is. it could also hurt them.

  1. There’s already the Udraw tablet. I guess developers are impatient to work on the new tablet, though that looks nothing like the Wii U’s controller or the Wii remote add-on.

  2. GREAT. Now when the Wii U comes out, expect wannabe’s to confuse it with the Drawsome.
Plus, how will it test the Wii U’s marketing? U is a console. Drawsome is an add-on. U has so much ballin’ awesome things on it. Drawsome…ehh, two games.

  3. Okay, that’s a theory. But here’s the problem in practice:

It’s a 3rd-Party peripheral made for one creativity toolbox!

You can’t gauge interest in the Wii U based on this, especially since potential customers may hold out for Wii U’s controller instead.

  4. Between this, the Wii U and the UDraw tablet, I just want to know when I will get my sequel to Mario Paint. This is all I want really, Mario Paint Wii (U).
