Nintendo Wii: Mario Party 9 For Wii Coming In March?

The GameStop listing that revealed Xenoblade Chronicles coming to the United States also lists the long-awaited Mario Party 9 for a March release. We already know the Xenoblade Chronicles listing was legitimate so hopefully this means we will all get our Mario Party fix this March.

    1. That’s y I think they should finish the series with 10 and call it Mario Party Bash and put every mini-game from the series or the best ones. If you’ve played 1-3, you’ll know they had the best mini-games.

      Who knows? The Wii U could get delayed, which is more than likely to happen since they haven’t shown any Wii U games available except for New Super Mario Bros. Mii and The Legend of Zelda tech demo that is going to become a game. I wouldn’t go expecting a Wii U to launch until late next year. Only a few third party games have been shown at E3. That just shows how early in development it is, we’re going to hear more information about the Wii U at E3 2012, which is next year.

      So no need to worry about Mario Party 9, it’ll get a good release next year waaay before the Wii U’s launch.

  1. If this came out on the 3DS, I would buy it. Just think about it, 3D MP! But then again like the old MP games, it will require a lot of movement so the 3D would be kind of messed up.

  2. Well I’m glad, I noticed the Mario Party 9 logo at e3 so I was excited to know they were making another one. Hopefully this will be much better than MP8 in terms of online features…. I love the Mario Party series but some aren’t too good such as 5, 7 and 8. So hopefully 9 will be great!

  3. Definitely looking like a good party game. I’ve not played a Mario Party since 5 but depending on how this one turns out, I may get it. I’m not totally sold on it yet.

  4. To those of you who are worrying. I’ve heard plenty of people saying that Mario Party 9’s creation in general is to attract the old school fans and that Nintendo are bringing back lot’s of old elemtents from previous Mario Party games.

  5. ok i fuckin love mario party from the n64 days and i think they should make it for both wii and wii u and hopfully 3ds for on the go and i would expect wii u to launch sometime around november 2012

  6. I thought MP 9 was coming out this fall. I guess it makes sense since Fortune Street (or whatever that’s called) is coming out soon. My only question is, why so late in the party? If Xenoblade will be using the same English voice acting, then why does it have to release until April and not in February or something? My only guess is that they don’t want to include it in their fiscal year.

  8. I’ve only got 4, 5, and 6. I’m not getting 9 unless it has an online system. Really any game where the only fun you can have with it is multiplayer needs an online mode for people who don’t have any friends.

    Forever alone. ;_;

    1. I love the fact that games can have online mode, but when a game doesn’t have local or the local player sucks and is hard to access is ridiculous to me. I grew up in the genesis and 64 days and I love having my friends to play against on the couch or online. Games should have good local and online. (Especially local IMO)

  9. Eh, I was never a fan of the Mario Party series that much, or Mario games in general. I like some Mario games, but I think Nintendo has gone a little overboard with the spin-offs.
