Japanese magazine CoroCoro has revealed that they will be revealing a brand new Pokemon game in their next issue which is set to go on sale on the 14 January 2012. However, the news could leak before then as subscribers pick up their issues. Any guesses as to what the Pokemon game could be?
It said its the world first shocking announcement? so i would now be surprised if it was gray. Maybe a spin-off game or 6th gen? I dunno!
Gamefreak said that they wont be making a Pokemon: Grey/any other remake of the 5th generation. So it’s probably going to be another Ranger game, or another Mystery Dungeon.
Actually, the interview has been translated in many different ways and no one is certain whether Junichi Masuda said that Game Freak are completely done with these versions or whether they are definately not done with them, meaning there is still a possibility.

Mystery dungeoun is dveloped by chunsoft and ranger by HAL… the original series is by Gamefreak.. so depending on who they interviewed, we’ll know which game we’ll be getting

I really doubt there’s going to be Pokemon Grey, a third addition to the Black & White Series wouldn’t seem very likely, because look at HeartGold and SoulSilver, you didn’t see a third addition like Crystal version.
yeah but heart gold and soul silver were remakes so it did not need a 3rd edition (just like fire red and leaf green)

Gold and Silver were GBC games as well, they just retained backwards compatibility.

Technically, this is not true. Nintendo only owns 33.3% of the Pokemon franchise. Game Freak owns another 33.3%, and The Pokemon Company International owns the last 33.3%. It is because of this that Game Freak and The Pokemon Company was allowed to bypass Nintendo completely and release that Pokemon mini-game for Apple’s iOS platform before.
If the owners of 51% or more of the stock of a company decide they want to do something, there’s nothing the other 49% stock holders can do to stop it. Stock owners own shares in a company (they OWN part of that company), you see, and this is why majority-voting investors have so much power as to the direction a company goes.
Anyway, it IS still ridiculous to think a Pokemon game will be coming to the Xbox 360 anytime soon. The effort to learn a new platform wouldn’t be worth the development costs, as it would be significantly cheaper to just stick with Nintendo’s portable devices, as the companies involved are already familiar with that hardware architecture, and there is a HUGE market for Pokemon titles on these platforms.
Not to mention, I’m sure Nintendo gives them big bonuses to stick with their platforms, seeing how Pokemon is still the biggest cash cow franchise on earth (excluding Farmville of course, but as far as I’m concerned, that “game” doesn’t even exist. The fact people fell for that virtual Skinner Box made me lose so much hope in society as a whole…)

Of course it could. A Nintendo DS cartridge can handle two regions and a 3DS cartridge has three to four times as much space for it to include five regions.
It would be awesome to have another Mystery Dungeon for the 3DS, all new graphics, 3D and all that jazz. I have only played the first but I have seen LPs of the other 2 (I think its 2) and they are pretty good. But I don’t care what it is, ITS POKEMON!

The creators of Pokemon have explicitly stated that main series Pokemon games will always stay on handhelds.
And the creators of TLoZ always said that Ocarina of Time would always be the first game and now Skyward Sword is before. Everything’s possible.

This is what I would REALLY want. I want a Gen 3 remake but with the battle system, mostly the speed, of the battles in Gen 5. In Gen 5 the battles are the BEST because the health bar goes instantly down. My biggest problem when playing an older game is the slow as hell health bar. Solution? Gen 3 with Gen 5 battle system.
The battle system of Gen V is just a touched up version of Hoenn’s system.
Remade Kanto and Gen IV were much slower.
i think it wouldnt be called Pokemon Grey or Gray. cause think about it. Reshiram is Black and in White. Zekrom is in White and is Black. Kyurem is a Tealish color. i think they will call it Pokemon Crimson.

More than likely its going to be another spin-off… last time they said “new game” it was pokepark wii 2 and before that its was rumble blast for the 3ds… I really hope that its not another spin off but at this point i don’t know what to expect..

Could be Grey or the Ruby and Sapphire remakes which I have been waiting for because those 2 are my favorite Pokemon games ever. I really hope that if those are it that they do a good job and not do a crappy job. Nintendo/Game Freak please make this a reality, not a crappy one.
