Nintendo Of America President Says Wii U Information Will Be Shared Throughout The Year, Not Just At E3

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime appeared on Spike TV from the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to give a little insight into Nintendo’s plans for 2012. Reggie briefly spoke about the Wii U and stated that Nintendo will be providing information on the console throughout the year, meaning we won’t have to wait until E3 to hear all the juicy information about the console.

“So essentially we will be sharing information throughout the entire year. I won’t say that you’re going to have to wait until E3, but we certainly aren’t breaking new information here – no launch date, no launch price, no software line-up. But we will be sharing a lot of information all through the year on how we will be driving Wii U into households”.

  1. I Am The Yeti. You Are Scum

all in all, the interview was short and kinda dissapointing. They did show off the console though, kinda rare because so much focus is on the controller.

    1. They have shifted their focus after the E3 reveal last year because people thought it was a Wii peripheral and not an entirely new console.

    1. Games, price, release date then specs. Graphics still don’t matter too me and i will buy the Wii U as long as it doesn’t go over $400-450 (which i highly doubt). I just need to know how many games to save up for.

    2. Games, Games, and Games. That is by far the most important thing on any console. It’s why the PS3 has picked up so much steam the past year or two. Specifically these games and how we’ll be using the tablet to makes these games better than they can be on a regular controller.

    3. Yeah Games are the priority for me. I had the Wii and when choosing which HD console to go for I looked for the exclusives that interested me.
And as Petros said, seeing how the controller will be used in the games.

    4. Games, controller functionality ideas, and hopefully a unified online infrastructure which will extend to the 3DS.

      First party Games predictions:
      Pikmin 3
      3D Mario
      New Miyamoto IP
      New Retro IP
+Plus downloadable games close to launch

umm, the only thing driving a wii u into my household is a stellar first party line up or a new zelda title.

        1. “The average PS3/360 gamer” spend their time talking about how Nintendo franchises are rehashed, kiddy, etc.

If Nintendo want’s PS3/360 gamers on board, they need the popular third party multiplats with them. Which they already have.

          1. Nintendo already had good 3rd party support for the Wii U, they have HD, they always will have good 1st party games and their online is sounding very kickass at the moment.

          2. They do have 3rd party, it is HD, it’s nintendo so really spectacular 1st party games, and we hope for the good online. :)

          1. lmao wow, if they release it on nov 20 that would be crazy, ima look back at this day with the look of shock on my face lol

  3. Kinda reminds me of the film Big Fish where Danny DeVito gave Ewan McGregor 1 small piece of info at a time. So unless we help him with his werewolf poblem, Reggie won’t give too much away until June.

  4. Yeah like YYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I’m actually kind of satisfied with this interview. While there was no big news at least we know we’ll get more information about the console throughout the year. I think they are gonna hold the launch date till E3 but maybe we’ll get previews of new 3rd party titles actually running on the system before then. Another thing I think they will hold on to are the 1st party game announcements till E3 among other 3rd parties.

    1. My list of priorities goes: games/online/games again/uhh games/GAMES/release date/online once more/did i already say games?/price(not really important, ima boss ;])/ohh yeah, GAMES! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY GAMESSSSSSS!
