Resident Evil Revelations Sales Jump On Amazon Due To Price Cut

Since Capcom announced earlier this week that Resident Evil: Revelations will receive a price cut, pre-order sales for the title have jumped dramatically on Amazon. Resident Evil: Revelations wasn’t even in the Amazon top 100 prior to the $10 price cut, but now it’s sitting pretty at number twenty-one. Resident Evil: Revelations is already out now in Europe, and is due for release February 7th in North America.

CAPCOM U HAVE MY RESPECT YA LEGEND KILLER!

    1. I doubt it. Did the 360 “die a slow death” because it launched expensive? How about the PS3? Both have sold around have a 100 million each, which is far from a “slow death.”

The PSP launched at $250 and sold over 70 million, and back then the dollar was worth more as well…

  1. I wouldn’t really say it’s thanks only to the price drop. Gamestop has a RE case as a pre-order bonus, so maybe people have gone there to get the game. Also, amazon has started a new offer where you get $10 credit when you pre-order a game from them. That money goes to any purchase you do that is sold by amazon.com (from their own warehouse, that is).

    1. I think it’s from the Price Drop, because Gamestop has to stop offering the case a few weeks ago due to reservation deadlines…The offer might be new, but in one week? Not too many people can learn about offers like that, heck, I use amazon almost daily and I never heard of that offer. It has to be due to the Price Drop.

      1. The gamestop case has been there for a long time now and amazon’s offer went in action not long ago. Price drop may be a reason, but I don’t think it’s the biggest reason as people could still get more stuff before the price drop. That, and the fact that people who want to use the circle pad pro will only get it through gamestop.

  2. Hmmm…What if CAPCOM put the price at $50 to make it seem expensive then lowered the price (as planned) so people will say it’s a great deal? Pish-posh CAPCOM wouldn’t do that, right?
/sarcasm, It’s a great game, the demo showed it. :D

  3. This further proves to Nintendo that people don’t want to pay for overpriced games, even if it is by a small margin of just $10. If Nintendo wants the Wii U to have a good launch, it can’t cost more than $350. That seems to be the price a lot of people are comfortable with. It’s also right around price of the Xbox 360 and PS3, and people are already comfortable paying those prices for old consoles, so it’s a great price for a console that’s brand new.

    1. It also proves to Nintendo that there’s a reason Mario Kart 7 sold millions at that price while Steel Diver didn’t; value. Sell the game at what price it’s worth; Sony already does this, Nintendo said they realize this is a problem, so what’s the holdup? Why the heck is Tetris selling for the same price as Super Mario 3D Land?

      1. Tetris Axis was apparently a good game and it got positive reviews. All the bad games have already had their prices cut, just check the website of any store that sells video games.

        1. Wow I feel stupid now. I just checked GameStop and yeah, you’re right, Nintendo is still selling Steel Diver and Pilotwings Resort at full price. It’s only third parties that lowered the price of their games from a while ago.

  5. Ayo chill that $10 can get me lunch for a few days and maybe even a lotto ticket. Yall filthy rich suckas needa understand. FOH with that high price shit. They made the right decision.

  6. well I was at game yesterday and both of the game stores where I live had totally sold out of it, glad I pre-ordered it. Hopefully its a sign that its selling well, and not that its under stocked

  7. I hope Nintendo is seeing all of this. Low price = good sales. If the Wii U costs $350, they will make a lot of money.

    1. yeah $350 would be the sweet spot for me,but i dont mind it being $350-$400.Nintendo needs to make a profit so their company can support more

    2. $350 is a great price for the Wii U, it’s about the same as PS3 and 360. What would you rather do, spend $350 on a 5-6 year old console, or spend it on a brand new console?

      1. i spent 100$ on a used xbox with controller, works fine but havent touched it,xbox Live costs too much and games cost alot, when you look at wii u games which are 50$(well on Amazon) and free online(nintendo isnt greedy) not to mention im not really interested in many games comeing soon, just feels like meh to me.its kinda like eating something good but you know it can be way more better,so im looking forward to wii u.Nintendo is just a company i can trust a bit more, with microsoft i feel they will mess me up,donno why

  8. I Am The Yeti. You Are Scum

That’s good news because it shows Capcom that their games will sell on the 3DS which will persuade them to make more.
