Activision has announced at Toy Fair that it’s preparing a sequel to the immensely popular Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure which is titled Skylanders Giants. The next chapter in the Skylanders franchise will introduce more than 20 New Figures Including Super-Sized Giants and Characters Featuring Light Technology. Every character from Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure is 100% compatible with Skylanders Giants and have leveled-up stats and customizations intact.
Already? It hasn’t even been a year, right?

They did announce a new 2D Mario, Spirit Camera, and Xenoblade (USA) within the past 2 months.
The only game you mentioned that I care about is the 2D Mario. Now that I think about it, Nintendo did the exact same thing Activision is doing when they announced the new 2D Mario so shortly after 3D Land, but since it’s Mario no one is complaining :)

This game was really bad. Like, I beat in a few hours. It’s just soooooo boring. And for 70 bucks too. Kind of a rip off. Its a great game for younger kids though. Jusy not enough content for me.

I should add I only played the 3ds version. Not sure how similar they are from each other. I assume the 3ds version features less content.

Who would have seen that coming…? ;-) I just hope they don’t rush out a lackluster sequel so they can grab more money. I liked the original Skylanders, but there have to be some serious improvements in the gaming mechanics. I’d also love to see a little bit of a deeper rpg element in the next one. Something that appeals to children and adult players as well. Spyro’s Adventure was way to simple.
Anyway, I’m happy, that I can use the figures I have bought again someday.
