Online gaming publication Kotaku has uncovered a patent filing from Nintendo which shows that the company was originally flirting with the idea of a 3D HD touch screen for Wii U. Nintendo’s patent filing states that the Wii U controller “might” feature a 3D display and an HD display. We already know that we won’t see the final controller until E3, so Nintendo may have some surprises in store for us.
And then Sony and Microsoft will copy that…

That’s why they aren’t going to sell extra controllers in stores. If you want to play with multiple Wii U controllers you would have to have a friend bring his/her controller to your house and vice versa, at least that’s what Nintendo is talking about doing.

No it won’t, it doesn’t do any processing and stuff, it just streams directly from the console, and most electronics cost less to make than you’d think, most of the money they charge is for profit/to recoop R&D and shipping and other costs…

It doesn’t need either. 3D would be ruined by fingerprimts and will cost loads extra, and the lower resolution than a tv apparentaly makes it barely look any different to HD anyway, why pay extra for so little difference? All I want it is to be able to use it’s confirmed flash enabled browser without having to power on the console.

Buttons, sure, they happened in the whatever-umpteenth century but Nintendo outlasted C64, Atari and (?) to be the longest users off ALL these technologies in the video game company so far. Really, there’s only so much you can do and whoever puts out there first should be given the credit for trying.
