Here’s The World’s First Assassin’s Creed 3 Trailer For Wii U

Ubisoft has just shown off the first trailer for the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed 3. A lot of information was leaked late last week, ahead of today’s official reveal by Ubisoft. We already know that the game is set during the American Revolution, and is due to appear on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U. Assassins Creed 3 is due for release on October 31st in Europe and October 30th in North America.

Assassin’s Creed® III will hit store shelves on October 31, 2012, encouraging gamers to experience the American Revolutionary War not written about in history books.  The largest project in Ubisoft’s history also introduces a brand new hero.

With a development cycle of over three years and twice the production capacity of any previous Ubisoft game, Assassin’s Creed III is set to release on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Windows PC and is also in development for Wii U™ from Nintendo. Assassin’s Creed III is developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with six other Ubisoft studios.

Set against the backdrop of the American Revolution in the late 18th century, Assassin’s Creed III introduces a new hero, Ratohnaké:ton, of Native American and English heritage. Adopting the name Connor, he becomes the new voice for justice in the ancient war between the Assassins and Templars. Players become an Assassin in the war for liberty against ruthless tyranny in the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise to date. Assassin’s Creed III spans the Revolutionary War, taking gamers from the vibrant, untamed frontier to bustling colonial towns and the intense, chaotic battlefields where George Washington’s Continental Army clashed with the imposing British Army.

Assassin’s Creed III is powered by Ubisoft-AnvilNext, a revolutionary new game engine that delivers breakthroughs in visual quality, character models and artificial intelligence. Assassin’s Creed III will feature a ground-breaking level of stunning graphics that bring Colonial America to life.

    1. Ubisoft hadn’t added a Wii U logo at the end of the trailer, but they’ve just confirmed via a press release that it’s coming to Wii U.

      1. As far as I know, this game is confirmed for Wii U, and Ubisoft has been very enthusiastic about the platform. For further clarification, for this teaser trailer, it’s not confirmed this is Wii U gameplay; however I assume it will be the same as the PC version.

        1. As much as it will break my collection of having all previous Assassins creed titles on ps3 i most definatly will be Getting this on Wii U :)

I’ve been waiting for Nintendo to get back on the ball with a Hardcore System for years

      1. I never played an Assassins creed game but I’ve watched by cosion play it and it looks epic. I’m sure he was playing assassins creed 2.

We don’t know how good Wii U would be but some epic games have been confirmed.

Wait until next E3 to see how good it is.

      1. This is most likely Xbox 360 footage.

Most game trailers are shown on PC or 360… We have not seen a game trailer on Wii U graphics yet. Back in E3 when showing upcoming games, the game trailers were 360 primarily and early graphics.

That trailer looks like 360 footage to me and it is most likely. otherwise it’s PC. I think Tekken back at E3 was shown on pre-footage, the graphics were not complete.

  1. Nice. The last AC game I played was AC 2. After that, it went downhill with the extra story elements. This one is the AC 3 I was waiting for, so I’ll get it; and since I’m getting a Wii U, I’ll get it for that.

It’s only the first day in the GDC week, and we already have this sweet news.

  3. Must have. This looks like one of the most amazing games ever. And I will get it on Wii U, even if I have to wait a little longer.

  4. You do realize this is NOT the world’s first trailer for the game on the WiiU right?!?!?! I love visitng your blog to read news about Nintendo but maaaan do you like to post misleading things lol. They even say it in the press release, “in development for the WiiU” which in any case, makes it sound like the game WILL NOT COME OUT in this year for the WiiU. Now THAT’S the news right there.

    1. So, you’re saying that a game that is confirmed for Nintendo’s new console shouldn’t be reported on a Nintendo site the day a new trailer comes out. Got it.

You should realize that the only reason this game hasn’t been announced on Wii U is because Nintendo hasn’t announced a release date yet. Ubisoft has opted to announce a release date for the game rather than showcase a direct Wii U edition; which will happen at E3. There is still seven months before this game’s release, take a breath, and give it time.

      1. I am not saying that, i am saying the title of the post is kinda misleading in a way that it implies that it is a trailer for the wiiu with wiiu footage.
I would’ve posted something along the lines of NEW ASSCREED trailer :)

  5. I swear the articles are so misleading. “The World’s first Assassins Creed III Trailer for Wii U!” Your thoughts “Yeaaaaa, Finally some Wii U Game footage……..WTF this is PS3 and 360”

    1. The original title, as you can see from the URL, was “The World’s first Assassins Creed III Trailer” I added the Wii U part after I found out the game was confirmed by Ubisoft for the platform.

    1. You never know though. This whole new Nintendo Network thing may be much more than we’re all expecting.

  6. Game companys can not publish fully renders games for the Wii U until its final unveiling at E3 because of proprietary legal issues. Final specs are not out, so if they were to show a full finished game, that would prove or disprove the development as to where the system stands in terms of current gen and next gen consoles. Besides the name of the system might change, and that is why they can’t place the logo onto any game…

    1. O_O

Thats from Skyrim if you want to know not Assassins creed. These arrow in the knee jokes are over used.

I used to hate arrow in the knee jokes, but then I took an arrow to the knee joke to the ear! ^_^

  8. The George Washington part seemed pretty weak. Like Ubi barely tried on it. All together a good trailer though

  9. Does this mean the WiiU will be out by Oct, or that the WiiU version will be out later with the console? Probably the latter.

I’ll be getting this for PC anyways

  10. Wow this has moved Assassin’s Creed III to my number one most wanted game on Wii U. This looks absolutely amazing!

  11. Suckin on some dicks is always a good time….does anyone know if this guy gets laid in this game? It was epic when ezio had sex with that girl in brotherhood. Ezio did her well for that matter.

  12. My to do list for today:
Get on computer. (this comment is via phone.)
    Go on Youtube.
    Search Assassin’s Creed III.
    Watch the trailer.
    And finally….RAPE THE REPLAY BUTTON!
