Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia believes that Rockstar’s highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto V is likely to launch early next year, and that a Wii U SKU is more than likely. A lot of people were hoping that Grand Theft Auto V would launch later this year, but Bhatia is confident it will launch in the fourth fiscal quarter for Take-Two, which ends March 2013.

Map on the controller instead of a headsup display? Chinatown style minigames? I don’t see why they wouldn’t put this game on the Wii u.
Except… To take advantage of these features the Wii u version would have to be different and not a direct port… Which means they’re less likely to chance it..
UNLESS the ps3 and xbox versions are the watered down port. :p

I hope Nintendo allows developers NOT to use the controller screen. Sure, it would be awesome, but I see no problem in just having a black screen, being there, but not doing anything, if it means we get the game.
Nintendo has stated the developers are not required to use the controller’s screen if they don’t want to.
Said this weeks ago but will repeat it again: GTA V will be released next April or May. Rockstar like to release their games in those two months and have tremendous success with that time too. Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire, GTA IV and this years Max Payne 3 have all come out/will come out in that part of Spring.
Soo much potential for the controller. A GPS, an in-game tablet, a virtual camera, a neat way to write graffiti on the walls, etc.

Of course it’s coming out on the Wii U… this is a non issue in my opinion … GTA IV was multi Platform and so will GTA 5… a wii U version is not only possible it’s expected… From hence forth… all multi-platform releases will be on Wii U…
I hope Nintendo is actively pursuing Rockstar to get them to make this game for Wii U. We NEED it on Wii U.
