Codemasters Officially Announces F1 2012

Codemasters has announced that it’s secured a multi-year deal F1 deal, and that the development studio is busy developing F1 2012 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Codemasters has neglected to mention whether there’s a F1 game in the works for Wii U, but that might be because the game is coming out in September, and the Wii U isn’t expected to launch until the end of the year. Hopefully we should hear something at E3 in June.

  1. I don’t like F1, but I;d like to play that Dirt game on the Wii U.

Also, the Wii U speculation thread on GAF is still going, and they have found some interesting stuff. For example, user wsippel, or comment #3968 on this page:

has posted links for the Unreal Engine website and for the gameware software like Havok and Autodesk. Apparently they were updated after GDC, but none of them include “support” for Wii U. Could it be that Nintendo is actually changing the name? They do support other platforms like the Wii and 3Ds, but the Wii U logo is nowhere to be found.

  2. I want to see how the Wii U controller would be used in a racing game like this. If the panoramic view demo is any indication it should be good.

    Leave luck to heaven.

  3. I’d like Nintendo change the name.
Many people still get confused about the wii u…..

New name will mean new console. People see the wii u as an add on not as I new one console.
