Epic Mickey producer Warren Spector has revealed that Epic Mickey: The Power of Two is coming to the Wii, as well as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and will be a musical. Spector confirmed that Jim Dooley and Mike Himelstein, the composer and lyricist who wrote the music for the upcoming animated film Dorothy of Oz, are crafting original tunes for Epic Mickey 2. Here’s what Warren Spector had to say about the game:
“I’m such a geek about musicals. I love the co-op and next-gen stuff, but for me, when a character breaks into song, which they do on a regular basis in this game, it’s magic.”
“It’s drop-in, drop-out co-op. You can sit down at any time with a friend who is playing as Mickey, and you can take control of Oswald. If you’re playing as a single player, Oswald will be there every second of the game. He’s not just a multiplayer character. He’s a helper, whether you’re playing alone or with a friend or family member.”
“We’ve had a team working on the camera from literally the day we finished the first game. They’ll be working on it until the day we ship the second game. (There have been) over 1,000 specific changes made to the camera. Our goal is that you will not have to touch the manual camera controls even once to play through the main story path of this game.”

Oh hell yes. I’m likely in the minority of people who think switching it up to being a musical is a great idea.
I missed out on the original because my Wii’s been playing up, but I’ll likely get this for the PS3 at least then.

And here I was hoping that the second game would basically be like the first with a much bigger world and more exploration and collectibles, and on Wii U. God damnit.

Also, it fits because it’s Disney. Watch every one of their animated movies, several songs in each of them. And no, it doesn’t necessarily “take the darkness out of it” like luvwrapper says, not if they do it right.

No Wii U then…
They’re probably doing it for the same reason as Game Freak with Pokemon Black 2 & White 2 on the DS instead of the 3DS. Wii U will be backwards compatible, both the Wii and Wii U will still be alive when the game comes out (I assume), so they’ll develop it based on the Wii hardware, and let WiiU owners still be able to play it if they wish.
They can always do both a Wii and Wii U version. I don’t want to be left out of beautiful HD just because I’m playing on Wii. They favored Nintendo fans by making the first one exclusive, now we’re forgotten just like the characters in Wasteland. I want a Wii U version!!!!!

Guess that if you want an expansive world with good graphics your going to have to buy the 360 and PS3 version. Thank heavens I own all three.

Really, being origional is the future… Not sure what SSB 4 would be like yet… it’s rumored to be quite diffrent to SSBB, it’s under planning so they havnt even made any 3D graphics of any modles yet.
