Wii U Version Of Aliens: Colonial Marines Will Be The Best Version

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has told The Verge that Aliens: Colonial Marines on Wii U will be the best version of the game. Pitchford told the publication that the Wii U version of Aliens can do so much more than the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 versions of the game. Here’s what Randy had to say about the forthcoming Wii U version:

“The Wii U version has so much more to offer … no other platform can do what the Wii U can do. If you love [Xbox] 360 games, you are not used to being in a world where you have this new interface. But once you get used to that, you imagine the possibilities; there are some opportunities that are just not possible on any platform that does not have that device.”

Pitchford hints that using the Wii U controller as a motion tracker, or in other ways that evoke signature moments form the films will lure gamers to the Wii U for their Aliens fix.

“I don’t want to give spoilers away on some of things we are thinking of or things we have actually implemented already,” he said, “but a lot of cool opportunities with that device that are going to make a very unique and compelling experience on that platform. We have given a lot of attention. I think it will not be too long [before] Nintendo opens up their kimono a little bit more about that platform and where it is going, we will be there right with them talking about how Aliens is using it.”

      1. Think someone needs to make “First” a ban word on the time and it like bans the IP/hostmask for * amount of time….or an ignore feature so you can ignore the user based on IP…. the first 10 post lately are people bashing each other for being 1st as if it matter while the rest of us have to scroll down constantly to skip thru the annoying trolling on a site that use to be pretty clean and ignorant free…Just saying :)

        1. …Everyone knows FPS games are better with a mouse and keyboard…besides, the wii u controller uses analogue nubs which still aren’t as accurate as analogue sticks, which are only 50% as accurate as a mouse and keyboard…

            1. I personally hope that Wiiu will support mouse and keyboard (via USB port)
I really became used to my mouse + mice and keyboard are more accurate, accept that fact

              1. Oops… you’re right. I’m sure you can plug the USB mouse and keyboard… but you’ll lose all the benefits if you don’t use the controller. Not to mention using radar or sonar screen for movable objects, etc.

              2. Why would you want a mouse to play the game when you can use the Wii U’s screen on controller and see the radar?

Wii U controller all the way!

          1. The gyro + big screen(bigger than tv when you consider the view distance) is virtual reality, which is as quick and accurate as mouse, but has bigger range of movement(= sensitivity), but it DESTROYS every other version with its immersion(you actually are INSIDE of the game.)

            1. You’re going to be able to hold the controller and aim through it. It’ll havelike cross hairs. Ever played “silent scope” the arcade same concept except of looking through the scope you use the tablet. You smoking that crack again boy?

          1. @chippy You failed miserably at understanding Nintendo’s new console. Fare-thee-well, PC graphics whore.

  1. The Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines will be like the NOA President– KICKING ASS AND TAKING NAMES!!!!!! My body is ready… and kill these goddamn aliens!!!!!!!

  2. I’m very glad to hear this. Should be a really cool and scary game. Can’t wait to see more.

    Leave luck to heaven.

  4. i hope ppl dont get the wrong signals and think he meant “best looking” out of all platform, cuz thats definatly PC. but i agree with randy a lot, using the controller as a radar is awesome. oh, and cant wait for borderlands 2!

    1. It may not be better than PC, but it’s been confirmed to be the best looking console version. That’s enough for me :)

        1. When are you PC gamers going to get off your high horse and realize PC games and Console games look almost identical?

          MINE’S LESS JAGGY THOUGH.

Who really cares? It still looks the same.

Like I said, get off your highhorses.

            1. At some parts I couldn’t even tell the difference. Then again, I’m not the kind of person who tries to scrutinize the tiniest spec of a detail to see what visuals are truly better.

            2. Like I said, looks almost identical. Only difference is the PC version has less jagged edges.

Which is not a big enough reason to act all high and mighty.

        2. PC = Best Graphics

Wii U = best experience due to the controller.

Wii U version you can use the Screen on controller as a radar as of what I’ve heard. ;)

Nothing beats PC gaming on graphics side of things.

          I would prefer the Experience.

  5. Definitely want to get this game. I’m not really into FPS but between the exciting news of this game and Ghost Recon Online I just might get more into FPS on the Wii U.
