Nintendo Announces Pokemon Conquest For Nintendo DS (Pokemon + Nobunaga’s Ambition) For US

Pokémon Conquest, which was known as Pokemon + Nobunaga’s Ambition in Japan, is set to launch on June 18th and offers a fun new way to play Pokémon in a unique world called Ransei that is filled with adventure. Developed by Tecmo, the 2D game can also be played on the Nintendo 3DS system.

In Pokémon Conquest, players take on the role of a young Warlord who is linked with a Pokémon. Together, they must set out to recruit Warrior allies to strengthen their growing kingdom. Along their journey, players will encounter a variety of Pokémon, as well as Warriors and Warlords inspired by the Japanese feudal era. The game contains nearly 200 Pokémon, including many from the recent Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version games, which have sold more than 4 million copies combined in the United States.

As the battlefield unfolds in Pokémon Conquest, players must choose the correct Pokémon type to inflict maximum damage on their opponents. In the turn-based skirmishes, players choose different tactics for intense six-on-six battles, and battle conditions can change on every turn, keeping players on their toes in anticipation of what will happen next.

“Pokémon fans are always interested in playing in new environments and experiencing new adventures. Pokémon Conquest gives them an entirely new way to enjoy this beloved series, with exciting new settings, fierce battles and nearly 200 Pokémon to team up with.”

-Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing.

    1. lol, to be honest though, I like the idea of a tactical/strategy game involving pokemon. The closest thing we’ve had to that was Pokemon Tower Defense, and that’s just a mediocre flash game. I think this has potential. :)

      1. to be honest, im not interested to play this new stupid game, im a fan of pokemon but come on this is too much, i mean im exited about pokemon B/W 2 thats awesome but no this game

        1. lol then dont buy it. We dont need to hear about what games you’re going to play or not, nor do we care.

    1. Why does it need to be a 3DS game? I know it could boost 3DS sales, but this type of game doesn’t really call for the 3-D effect. And it’s already been out in Japan anyway, so they wouldn’t change it at this point.

      1. Yeah unlike BW2, it doesn’t need STREETPASS or the IMPROVED ONLINE PLAY or the EXTRA GRAPHICAL PROWESS, that the 3DS brings.

All of which are amazing features unique to 3DS games when compared to DS games, so stop saying that the 3DS is only a 3D DS.

  1. You failed to mention that this was already released in Japan. Good stuff though, I really didn’t thibk we were going to get it.

    1. Yeah, I was a little quick off the mark! I believe this is actually Pokemon + Nobunaga’s Ambition renamed for the US. Still, good news!

  2. Why isn’t it released on the 3DS, its one of the best handheld’s nintendo have ever made !!!!! The DS was released a couple of years ago. if this is gonna be a good game then is it gonna be released on a crap handheld

    1. It’s meant to be, but they’re not going to give it the same name because people don’t know about it in the west, and aren’t familiar with Japanese History.

  3. Hope they don’t change it too much to make it friendly to people who don’t know much about nobunaga and etc because I think it’d be nice to learn…

  4. me nots giv a rats ass bout da pokaman tills they do a 3ds game.me can steels daH ds ones and play on r4 i guess.

i am gays gets over it.

  5. to be honest, im not interested to play this new stupid game, im a fan of pokemon but come on this is too much, i mean im exited about pokemon B/W 2 thats awesome but no this game

  8. The gameplay described here, sounds like a game called “Yu-Gi-Oh! Falsebound Kingdom” for the GameCube. Anybody else see that connection?

    Leave luck to heaven.
