Kirby 20th Anniversary Disc Coming To Wii

To celebrate Kirby’s 20th anniversary Nintendo will be releasing a compilation disc filled with some of the best Kirby games ever created. Nintendo previously created a similar package to celebrate Mario’s 25th anniversary. Which Kirby games would you like to see included?

“We’re thrilled to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Kirby by releasing a special Wii disc featuring all your favorite Kirby games this year! Which Kirby games are you looking forward to playing again?”

  1. I’d like to see games that should make sense being played on a console….better yet games that make sense in general to be on a compilation disc.

I.e. no remakes, no spin-offs (Air Ride, Canvas Curse, etc.), just games from the main series. Yeah, kinda like Super Mario All-Stars. Anyways, It’d be kinda wierd IMO because they rarely do things like this, but here’s what I’d like to see:

-Kirby’s Dream Land (with similar nostalgia factors as the 3DS V.C. version, like having the screen green and somehwat blurry like the original Game Boy)
    -Kirby’s Adventure
    -Kirby Super Star

Hm….don’t know what else. I’m not sure they’d go out of their way to port GBA/DS games. I mean who knows?

    1. Nintendo Still have some little thing with Samus… Maybe post Other M anaemic Sales, and Retro Studios leaving the franchise… they don’t know what to do with her anylonger…

(Cue image of a Sad Samus with a Cupcake)

      1. I loved Other M and I wondered if the critics played the same game I did. I won’t defend the story anymore since everyone hated it (even though I didn’t) but the game play and everything else was some of the best on the Wii. Super fun game that got trolled because Samus isn’t allowed to have a personality that isn’t a stretch from the manga

        1. I liked the game too, altough it was way too short. Also I think they built up the mysteriosness of the “Deleter” But did nothing really with him. The one thing I Loved was the third person view side scrolling it was rather refreshing compared to first person of Metriod Prime games. I love the Prime games I just was excited for a side scrolling Metriod game.

          1. Exactly! I want another 3d sidescroller like that for 3DS, that would be a dream come true. I wish they had more conflicts with the Deleter, that would have made it better, then have him be like a 2nd to last boss. Then, in his dying breath he releases the Queen Metroid. That would be the best storyline IMO.

    2. I know, right? Its because they had to push their over-rated, cash-cow Legend of Zelda. Thankfully I own all the games in the Metroid series. Other than that, I love Kirby and this is great news.

      1. I totally agree with this. Zelda could have a game with a terribly made engine and still sell like hot-cakes. Metroid is way more deserving! Still I like Kirby too and will probably pick this up.

    1. I don’t blame you, the way I see it is if you never owned these games or you did and don’t anymore then here is your chance to own them but if you already own them then why bother?

  3. i hope the games aren’t just ports :/
I would like to see the graphics upped a bit with the compilation disk :3

  4. Crystal Shards without a doubt. Combining powers to make whole new powers was THE BEST MECHANIC! Not to mention it’s the 2nd game with a fucked up secret ending. =P

  5. Bah! I just bought Crystal Shards from the Virtual Console! Anyways, I hope they have a couple unreleased games, that would be epic!

  6. It must include:
    ~ Kirby’s Dream Land 1, 2, 3
~ Kirby’s Adventure (OR the upgraded remake: Nightmare in Dream Land)
    ~ Kirby’s Super Star
    It probably should include:
~ Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
~ Kirby and the Amazing Mirror

  7. Why is it Kirby gets a special 20th anniversary compilation disc for its’ 20th, but Metroids 25th anniversary was completely ignored?

  11. If you ask me, which none of you did, it shouldn’t just be a disc with old games. It should one big game with parts of each game merging together, sort of like Sonic Generations. There would be this big boss man who would be merging all the worlds together so part of a level would play like Kirby’s dreamland, another part like squeak squad, another part like air ride. Or just give us air ride 2 :P

    1. i agree, i was disappointed kirby’s return to dreamland was somewhat short and it missed out of some of the abilities, still it would look awesome if the game would turn out like you said so.

BTW i dont wanna be a spammer or anything (lol) but if you wanna join us @ our group to talk about kirby and other nintendo characters or console, you are welcome at:

      thanks :)

      1. :P I just found this on a Japanese website: Kirby: 20th Anniversary Special Collection will include Kirby’s Dream Land, Kirby’s Dream Land 2, Kirby’s Adventure, Kirby Super Star, Kirby’s Dream Land 3 and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. I guess it is just a compilation disc. I like Return to dreamland the best, even if it was short, and i think I´m allowed to say my opinion here because i´ve played every ds handheld and every console since Crystal Shards. Besides Crystal Shards was shorter.

        BTW I joined the group.

        1. so basically this is just a compilation of those games? like a emulator? well i think thats gonna suck, at least they could REMAKE those games

          1. well, it has those games, plus a museum, and a soundtrack disc (and kirby has great music), a booklet with a complete history of kirby, and new challenge stages, like the ones in kirby´s return to dreamland (you know, where you had to complete the course as fast as you could) like sword, and wing. Plus it´s a kirby game. It´s worth buying, even if you already played half of them. I think, but not sure, that there all in full color.
