There should be a Nintendo Zone channel on the home screen. But you can only use it in places where it is offered.
As someone who has used the service, meh. It really has very little to offer. In fact, there is no reason why they can’t make it a “Nintendo Channel” like the Wii has. Then again, how else are they getting people to take the 3DS out of the house and go into McDonalds, Starbucks, and Best Buy?

In the US we have a way to get around the locational hotspot, and can access it at home. For the US change your router’s SSID to attwifi. Make the broadcast public and unlocked and it bingo. Nintendo zone can work from home.
The same thing might work in Europe, though I’m not sure what you have to change the SSID name to.

I followed instructions on the net. I’m in France. I have a European 3DS. I took a spare (yeah, I’m a geek, so I have spares of these) WiFi router, which I configured with SSID : attwifi , and no encryption. Then I plugged that on to my main router (making sure the internal LAN IP of the new router was on a different range than the normal home router – my internal network is 192.168.1.X and my LAN settings for the “attwifi” network is 192.169.2.X so that routing works). Immediately (well, after a few seconds) my 3DS told me I was in a Nintendo Zone and proceded to set up the software and ask me if I wanted notifications and such. Now it says “Comming Soon!” on the main Nintendo Zone page but it works. :)
Anybody know other SSIDs that work for Europe (I suspect the attwifi one is US only and so content isn’t present for European 3DSs using attwifi – but I could be way wrong on this one).
