An intriguing artist over at Gamesblog has fused The Legend of Zelda series with Bethesda’s Fallout series to create what it calls The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of the Future. There’s plenty of images provided on the site, so why not take a look.

sexy
ultra sexy!
two of my favorite games
Pretty cool
i love to see this!!!!! am thinking like the cartoon samurai jack when he is sent to the future.
link can be sent to the future by ganon, vaati or demise. or a new one.
a futuristic zelda can be a cool spin off from the traditional series, and the full hd would give the perfect touch
well nintendo was thinking of doing a futuristic Zelda but fans raged and they didn’t do it.
I love Zelda, but its fans can be idiots at times. They’re still up in arms about Spirit Tracks introducing trains.
Given these pictures, a Zelda game like this might be interesting. Taking Zelda in to the future could be very interesting.
If they did it right, but a futuristic Zelda is too gritty for nintendo now, it would be too dark for them to actually do it.
who says it has to be dark and gritty lol just sayin’
I don’t like the Link designs, but the first pictures, yessssss pleaseeeeeeee
fallout sucks
link looks stupid scenery looks nice
WHO CARES
*raises hand*
I do.
I’m pretty sure there are alot of us who care about this.
No one wants this. No one.
I do.
i do too
I do as well.
Never played Fallout, but I’d give this a shot if they ever decide to make it.
I do
I want this more than any other LoZ game made so far LOL
I would quite enjoy having this.
Interesting, I was thinking of a Zelda set in the future a few days ago. Although I have no artistic talent =(
Pretty cool, but the designs for link are meh.
nice
Reminds me of this hoax called “Link to the Future” where Link was set in the futuristic Hyrule where everything looks metallic, he uses guns, rides a motorcycle called “Epona”, etc.
Sounds like a plan lol
i like the last sentence lol
They’re ruin TLoZ… with that Fallout shit…
Godammit…!!!
Why not take a look?
I’ll tell you why not – because NO ONE CARES!
Uhh, I do believe myself along with many other people here do care O_O
I’m actually with this guy and it should be interesting, I mean, one futuristic Zelda wouldn’t kill you, right? Even me, I wonder what is it like in the distance future for Zelda. Just one futuristic and then we can go back to the way it was, though.
Never played Fallout and I’m never one to diss a game simply because I haven’t played it but that cross over Link concept 2nd from the bottom in the bottom picture looks amazing.
Link no va con los tiempos modernos ¬¬
Uh no no no and no
Please note that the 12U racers will do 2 laps of the C3 cruose while the 10U will do one lap. We will update any changes to cruose the morning of the raceThanks and see you Sunday!!Paul
This may sound stupid to some, but I would like a futuristic, dark Zelda game. Maybe based around what happened before Skyward Sword?
Skyward sword is technically the first Zelda . -_- you can’t be before the first .
Eiji Aounuma said that Skyward Sword while may be the earlier point of the series – it isn’t necessarily the first.
Well there is that manga that tells the story of the very 1st Link before the Link in Skyward Sword.
Before the original LoZ on the NES was the first Zelda, but that changed. And then LotP was the first, but that changed. Then Ocarina. The timeline is continuously changing, and I wouldn’t be suprised if Nintendo has this in their magic box of ideas.
no, that is not now it would look like
its just how it looks like in the mind of said artist..
Nice. I like.
I don’t know why so many people seem to be against this. I think it is an awesome idea and I have been a Zelda fan since I can remember. It’s not like if they did make a Zelda that took place in more advanced future that would change every Zelda after it forever. It would just be another addition to the Time Line and a nice change of pace and environment.
Yeah, I agree, a futuristic direction would be fresh for the series.
I agree with you, one different game doesn’t mean a total change from the entire serie.
Also when i think in a futuristic zelda, i dont think in guns, lasers, spaceships etc… Fallout is set in the future and there is nothing like that. Final fantasy 7-9 has a great
Mix of futuristic enviroments with natural ones
Well fallout has guns lol fail for me
Have*
Same, I do think Zelda needs one taste for the futuristic before we can go back to main, I mean, even me, I always wonder what the future Zelda, even Hyrule look like. If it’s come to realize, fans shouldn’t be angry or so as it is from the different dimension or just a single future Zelda before they can go back to the good one.
looks interesting.
I gonna say, it looks pretty cool imo
I like! :D
I think it’s a really interesting idea. It could be pulled off very successfully, IF the developers didn’t go overboard. A shotgun and pistol maybe, but no laser guns or light sabres. A weapon similar to Cloud’s from FF VII? Maybe a crossbox/master sword? It wouldn’t be that much of a stretch. We did have quite a robot heavy cast in the last game. I think an extremely steam punkish game would be the way to go. The Legend of Zelda: Steam Crusher!!! (Lol, okay maybe that last one was a little much.) I trust Nintendo to innovate my favorite games. I remember thinking, “Metroid as a FPS? You idiots!” But, I was very wrong about that, so who knows?
I strongly dislike this art style. Thankfully it isn’t official, just fan-made. Zelda has always been surreal, fantasy, silly, and imaginative. To make it “mature” and “dudebro” or even mix it’s art style with that from another series, to me, serves no purpose.
If the Legend of Zelda series has proven anything over it’s 25 years, it’s that it doesn’t need to take art inspiration from another series. If anything, it’s other developers and designers that still draw influence from the world of Zelda.
I understand many gamers and fans feel that the series has grown stale and needs to grow up, I get it, and a part of me agrees with that. However, I also understand that some game series are the way they are and have lasted and endured for as long as they have because of familiarity. You don’t need to look much further than Super Mario Bros.
You got a point, but the fact that it takes a futuristic environment it doesnt mean it loose its fantasy. In skyward sword when you like “travel” to the past in the third dungeon if am not wrong, you can see robots, high tech plataforms, and other futuristic stuff and it combined perfect to the universe. What i mean is that the magic, fantasy, can be preserved in any time period.
I think if this zelda came to reality it would be awesome, maybe not at other titles or maybe yes who knows. I mean this isnt going to be the last zelda game. So give it a try no?? Metroid at fps is thee bomb and look mario as an RPG!! Legend of the seven stars is pne of my top rpg.
Its nintendo, lets believe in them
I don’t think Zelda has become stale, it’s just that innovation is one of the things that I LOVE about Nintendo. One franchise, many games! Look at Mario vs. Paper Mario, Metroid Prime vs. Metroid: Other M, and Donkey Kong Country vs. Diddy Kong Racing. All great games, all drastically different. A sharp Zelda detour would not have to be any different. Some would call this Nintendo milking their characters dry, but I call it Nintendo continually outdoing themselves. I think that plays a large part in what’s kept me around for 25 years.
I agree. Just because a game is set in the future doesn’t mean it cannot be filled with magic and fantasy. Look at Final Fantasy 7
Right, because that completely describes the Twilight Princess art style.
Sarcasm aside, I really liked the different art style with Twilight Princess and I felt it really matched the game. Face it Zelda game will probably go though one or two more styles in the next few years and I hardly doubt that Nintendo will screw it up.
“Hardly doubt”? I must be pretty tired, just leave it at doubt.
114Observed your post incredibly alappeing certainly. I truly loved browsing it and you also make pretty some great points. I am going to bookmark this site to the potential! Relly great short article.
Pretty old but cool to see again none the less :)
I tell ya, they could definitely do something similar. Just make it after Ganon destroyed Hyrule or something (sorry if it wouldn’t work in a similar sense, I don’t really study the story that much…)
oooooo ahah ooo ah ahahahah ooo ah o ahah (I think it would be pretty neat a mix of the past and the future all though link costume looks horrible in the future) OO OO AHAH OO (NOW WHO TOOK MY BANANA!!!!)
it would be interesting if nintendo did this for the wii u
please make it happen they are my 2 favorite games
Link looks a lot like Desert Punk in terms of clothing. I like this style. Zelda is a game about a variety fo weapons, but none of the weapons truly advance past the others. He has been living in the same time period for hundreds of years.
Nope nope nope. Don’t you dare compare a masterpeice to a Bethesda game. Please. I don’t mind the idea of link being in a ‘Apopcolypic world’, but not with Fallout’s theme…
I went through the designs and it really doesn’t strike me as “Fallout”. Seems to me more like Metroid Prime 2 + Post-apocalyptic + Zelda.
I guess fallout and legend of Zelda would be a great idea but Skyrim and legend of Zelda would be even better
For Zelda or not, this guy should be hired as a concept artist.
