Wii U Release Date & Price Won’t Be Announced At E3 2012

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has informed investors that the company has no plans to announce either the release date or the pricing for Wii U at this years E3 event. This will come as surprise to many who fully expected Nintendo to make these announcements in June. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long after the event to find out.

“We will showcase the final format, and discuss the details and the software line-up for this year at E3 2012, which will be held in Los Angeles in the United States in June this year.”

“Also, in the week after the E3 show, we would like to organise an opportunity where we can showcase the same to the Japanese wholesalers and financial analysts who cannot attend the E3 show. The people in our appropriate sections will let you know as soon as we have settled on further details.”

“Please also be advised that, as we did for previous platforms that were launched in the year-end sales season, we will announce the launch date and price in each market sometime after E3.”

        1. why dont you quit suckin balls and get your fat ass off this site if you dont give a crap about the topic

    1. You know what that screams to me??
      “expensive”
So I am no longer expecting it to be 300 hundred dollars

  1. hopefully they’ll announce its name change. i’m sorry, but Wii U is the worst possible name out there. if they want the hardcore’s back, then drop the Wii part. thats whT sent hardcore’s away in the first place.

          1. That still makes them idiots for not doing their homework.

Can’t say the same about the casuals, who aren’t supposed to read gaming news blogs every day and know that that new thing that looks like a Wii isn’t a Wii. :/

  2. it’s a good marketing move on nintendo’s part to not announce these things quite yet.
it’s a bit too early for such a controversial unit.

  3. Good move Nintendo. They probably don’t want angry fans if they have to delay, so they need some more time to work on it and know if it will be out on the release date they set.

  6. This is a smart move. When they show it at E3, it will get people excited and speculating as to what the price will be. People will judge by what they see on the floor what they think the price should be and start preparing themselves and their wallets for it. It could work in their favour if done right.

    Leave luck to heaven.

  7. To quote Darth Vader: “NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!” Anyways, E3 just became less exciting for me now. I guess I can wait until E3.
