Spike TV Confirms Live Unprecedented Coverage Of E3 2012

Spike TV and GameTrailers have confirmed that they plan to partner up with Viacom Networks to deliver what they call ‘live unprecedented coverage’ of E3 2012.

The live special will provide gamers with over 40 gaming exclusives and special guest interviews with more than 17 hours of coverage across multiple platforms. Spike’s and GameTrailers’ 2011 live E3 multi-platform special was the number one destination for E3 coverage last year, garnering more than 10 million combined online and on-air viewers, and was also the largest live streaming event in Viacom history.

  1. But being serious about this article. I wish I could go to E3…!
I have always wanted to see the game companies exhibit their products, but I was told E3 was only for those who were someone a part of the industry itself.

Correct me if I am wrong!
    But I CAN’T wait…
    :D

    1. Found this on e3expo.com

      “Attendee Registration Policies
E3 is a professional trade event and is not open to the general public. Individuals who are not able to document their direct and current professional affiliation to the interactive entertainment industry are not qualified to attend.”

Too bad, for most of us.

  3. Considering the kinda crap spike does with their award show… I probably won’t be watching this.

      1. He is just saying that he expects crap from Spike TV in general. They seem to ignore Nintendo when it comes to video game awards, and there is a bunch of other crap that goes. But I think they will cover Nintendo for the E3 event.

        1. That’s because the people who vote on their awards shows are the stereotypical jockish, FPS loving testosterone spewing gamers that love COD.

        2. yeah i dont see why they wouldn’t. it’s a major press event, there’s no way they wouldn’t cover it.

        3. Clearly people don’t know much about GT. Of course they’re going to talk with Nintendo etc, its like saying IGN won’t talk to Nintendo. GT is a gaming news subsidary of Viacom, Spike TV is just a platform. It’s still GT.

On another note the most frequent gaming executive guest on GTTV(which airs on spike) is Reggie. Anti Nintendo? Nope, you’re just way over your head

          1. Over my head? I never said they were anti-nintendo. I know Reggie appears all the time which is why I added that they will probably cover Nintendo.

  5. They can’t do any-worse than G4… so we shall see. That being said, sometimes I wonder why Microsoft even bother’s doing a Press conference, as many of their “Innovations” are nothing more than copies of what their competition has done, or ways in which everyone but the end-user profits.

  6. Wasn’t it last year that Microsoft mostly just had third party games like Tomb Raider and Modern Warfare 3. I don;t own a 360 but it would be great if they got some new first party titles.
I watch all of the big 3 conferences because I’m interested in all 3 and not just so I can go online afterward and say things like “Nintendo Rulz”. :-)

    1. Though looks like I won;t be watching the Sony one live this year since it’s on at 2am Tuesday morning here

  7. Gametrailers’s servers were beast last year. I watched the conference without lag. They kept their word of upping their servers to sustain the views. I hope it works for them again this year.

  8. Of course Spike/G4 has to sex up everything VG related. I’d rather watch on G4. Even though it’s basically SpikeTV2. Whatever. I just want to see Nintendo and Valve if they’re even there.

  9. Well, I don’t get Spike so it’s G4 for me. I’ll watch the conferences, but when they start with their stupid opinions, well that’s what my mute button is for. Especially Morgan Webb.

    1. At least I give G4 a benefit of respect. I see you got the hots for Morgan Webb… I have the hots for Kristin Adams… too bad she’s married.

      1. I don’t have the hots for Morgan. I haven’t watched an episode of X Play in years. Candace Bailey and Sara Underwood all the way.

          1. I missed Olivia too. But she left without so much as a goodbye, I guess there was a falling out with her and the G4 management of something. I just wish she had said goodbye.

  10. It obviously shows that G4 gets its viewers from sex appeal i mean really you have to get a playboy bunny to love video games so that we can just watch her perform a marathon naked which is not VG related. G4 is turning into MTV a channel that shows barely any music videos i mean its amazing how they can only air a new Xplay on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but Thursday-Sunday its just re-runs! I know there is not alot of content out there but they could air tournaments around the world and what would be cool is a security camera view of a video game in production just show the best clips throughout the day cause you know them programmers, artists and developers do some crazy stuff in those offices! Also make some shows like The Tester where you can compete for an internship or something like that through G4! I am tired of watch Cops honestly it gets real boring after a while! Theres my Rant hope you enjoy!

    1. I hear ya. I special ordered that channel from my cable provider just to see Attack of the Show. Sara is really sexy, but she doesn’t make or break the show for me. I watch for Kevin Pereira. That dude is funny and I love to see her torture his cohosts with his perviness, especially Candace. I don’t really watch anythig else on G4. I liked some of there original programming. “Filter” was awesome. So was Cinematech, that should still be on and Proving Ground and Code Monkeys.

X Play used to be good but now is meh.

  11. I prefer to watch on TV then a computer but I hope they show the other presconfrences from sony and Nintendo rather then just Microsoft like last year.
