Edge magazine has awarded Mario Tennis Open a respectable 7/10 in its latest issue. Sadly there’s no excerpts from the review, but it would be safe to assume they enjoyed the game. Edge magazine is notorious for its harsh scoring system so 7/10 is reasonably good. Mario Tennis Open is due for release May 20th in North America and May 25th in Europe.

Nintendo Official Magazine gave it an 80. Said it was basically the same thing again.
Again I am buying it because it a new Mario Tennis game and its on 3DS. Not for these people reviews and opinions.

I just want a portable Mario Tennis game, and here it is
Nintedo power also gave it a 7 out of 10. They said it was ok, but nothing major. They said that it’s hard to enjoy the 3d, because your constantly moving during matches. I might get this if I can get it at bargin bin prices.

Even though there may not be anything ‘new’, it is Mario Tennis and the past MT games were fun so this one should be as well.

There is no need to obsess over what score anyone gives this game. It’s just a tennis game. Albeit an over the top tennis game, but still.
