Mario Party 9 has successfully managed to climb to the top of the Japanese software charts this week selling a more-than respectable 144,585 units. If you look at the entire top ten you’ll immediately notice that eight of the ten game are on Nintendo platforms. With regards to hardware the Nintendo 3DS is once again the best-selling format, easily beating Sony’s PlayStation 3. Here’s the software and hardware charts:

I love how quirky the Japanese are. Everytime I’ve asked a woman to have my children, I get a restraining order against me. When are they gonna make a game about that?
i think they do make those but the west wont like it due to culture… if you ask mii is the same with a-rated games.
Basic concept of the game:
The world is being overrun by impurities and it’s up you the player to play as a highschool student who sucks at getting girls, make 12 ‘star children’, and clear dungeons. So, yeah. It’s a Dating Sim / JRPG about making babies that will help you save the world.

Is it me, or is the XBOX the most UNWANTED system in Japan!? You know that in America, XBOX is the most ran system [well all my friends have the XBOX and favor it over their Wii system], but the charts said that XBOX didn’t even get over 2,000 sales. Those sales seem almost non-existent compared to [WHOOP WHOOP] the Nintendo 3DS sales, or Mario Party 9…
Yeah… Japan doesn’t care about Xbox at all. XD If only it was like that in america.. Apparently Americans REALLY love to waste their money to play online, get lesser quality versions of shared titles, and virtually no exclusive titles.
If you want lesser qualities of shared titles you better stick to the Wii.
that’s true, a lot of Americans go over bloody stuff over quality games (shooter an example)
Actually, the PS3 have been hated for getting the worst ports of multi-platform titles. It’s because developers have been having a hard time with the core processors of the PS3. Also, many people prefer the 360 over the PS3 controller.
I’ve noticed that Japan in general really doesn’t like anything Microsoft. They usually buy Nintendo, Sony and Apple products. They love iPhones and iPads and such lol. Japan loves good technology that isn’t known to break in someway (*cough* red ring of death *cough* blue screen of death *cough*)

Nintendo owns Japan, now they just need to take America and Europe. They already own half of America.
After Nintendo’s King Bob-omb for the 3DS, the Vita will suffer a horrible and painful death until Sony releases a JRPG for it or discontinues it all together in Japan. Sales are so low, it’s lower than the Wii! And that’s losing interest.
As for the Xbox 360, no surprise there, Japan hates Microsoft.
