Nintendo Land Wii U Attractions Revealed

Nintendo Land is a fun and lively theme park filled with 12 different attractions, each with its own take on a Nintendo franchise. Each attraction features unique and innovative game-play experiences made possible by the Wii U GamePad controller. Depending on the attraction, players can compete solo or against other players, or even team up to play cooperatively. Up to five players can participate in dynamic multiplayer modes in select attractions. The experiences change every time, depending on whether players are using the GamePad, holding a Wii Remote or just watching others play on the TV screen.

  • Donkey Kong’s Crash Course: Using the GamePad’s motion control, players tilt the controller to guide a fragile rolling cart through an obstacle course that resembles the original Donkey Kong arcade game. This single-player game lets other spectators watch the action on the TV and offer advice about how to pass the next obstacle.
  • Luigi’s Ghost Mansion: The player with the GamePad is a ghost (invisible to others) who is trying to capture up to four humans armed with flashlights. The ghost must sneak around the environment by staying in the shadows and try to catch them one by one. The humans can work together to revive fallen comrades before the ghost catches everyone. If all four humans are caught before they are revived, the ghost wins. But if they are successful at shining their flashlights on the ghost long enough to reduce its hit points to zero, the humans win.
  • Animal Crossing™: Sweet Day: The player holding the Wii U GamePad controls two guards who are in charge of safeguarding a candy orchard from a group of candy-loving animals. Up to four other players, using the Wii Remote controllers to control these animals, must work together to outwit – and outrun – the guards. The game ends when a combined total of 50 pieces of candy are collected, or when the guards catch any one of the animals three times.
  • The Legend of Zelda™: Battle Quest: The player with the GamePad is an archer who can aim and shoot arrows using the screen as a view finder. That player is joined by up to three others who wield Wii Remote Plus controllers like swords. Players work together to take on a variety of enemies in a world that looks like a cloth version of a game from The Legend of Zelda series.
  • Takamaru’s Ninja Castle: Based on an early Famicom game available only in Japan, this single-player game turns the GamePad into a launcher for ninja stars. Players swipe the controller’s touch screen to take out an ever-growing army of ninja attackers, earning more points for consecutive hits. Moving the GamePad around at different angles enables the player to take aim in an intuitive fashion.

Seven other attractions will be announced at a later date.

  1. Was disappointed in the conference as a whole. I thought they would’ve learned, if not from previous years, then watching the other conferences yesterday to place less emphaisis on casual and family play.

    1. 100% agree… I am still in shock just how piss poor that press conference was. I did not think Nintendo could be worse than Microsoft till I watched that crap.

    2. So you expect them to change their whole presentation based on yesterdays conferences, at 1 days notice? huh???

      1. I remember reading somewhere that the 3 companies always have extra announcements up their sleeves in case they need them. It helps explain the poor Sony Move debut, when they pretty much rushed out a demo after MS announced the Kinect earlier that day

  2. goody.GYES listen nintendi might have failed on their conference but they might hide something.i mean comon cheer up nintendo is making games now whare we speak or writing and i guess that they will anounce them in the fast future.even sickr will post a new that it will be interesting.

CHEER UP.E3 CONFERENCE DOESNT MEAN NINTENDOS END! JUST WAIT A LITTLE BIT!i know how u feel and i too.i feel bad for their boring conference but i am sure the wiiu will be great in the future

    1. If they don’t announce Star Fox or F-Zero until 2013, I will never, ever buy a Nintendo product.

      1. it will take some time i think.i will wait.if they dont then i will w8 for the next nintendo console.I WANT A STARFOX TOO!

  3. sickr.if the troll situation about nintendos ee3 press conference will be under controll i want to post to ur blog that “Nintendo’s dissapointing conference doesnt meen the end of Nintendo”

  5. man i was so disapointed nintendo comited suicide by not focusing on the proclaim hardcore gamers they’re trying to sell this console to and less focus on casual gamers….they didnt even say if cod bops 2 was coming to the wii u like serious i thought they learn specialy when 3ds came out with no worthy games if this is how they want to start out then let me say this system will fail…..
the hole point of announcing games that are inproduction or not even inproduction is to keep gamers interested so that they could look foward to something once they buy or intend to buy the system…. great example…anouncing supersmash bros 4 last year that was one of the games i was looking foward to at least seen some of the new character they are planing to bring into the game….nintendo just shot itself in the foot…
i remember on the E3 that they show case and announce the new metroid ad ssb for the wii… that hype me up to the point that i was looking forward to the wii realease now witht that in mind…the wii u is coming out in months and there was nothing exiting about that presentation, if they want to sell the system to a pg13 and under audience well good job nintendo otherwise what a big and fat fail….i guess i will remain with Microsoft and at least i will be getting a 3ds once it goes lite and when project x and probably a new metroid will come as far as the wii u if i and the other 10s of thoughsands of followers of the system do not see something different and more exiting then that crap they showed then i guess people will be getting 3ds, xbox, ps3, and hybrids for the holladay sorry nintendo but if u cant even have one of the mayor and most popular hardcore franchise which is cod in ur system then u will not have the millions and billions of hardcore fans to purchase ur system…am so mad and sad at the same time that nintendo did not learn its lesson through a 1 year period wow so dissapointed….sad… 1 more thing one thing u have to learn about hardcore fans is that we are xtremely competitive that means online multiplayer/co-op let this be a lesson…wow sad..

  6. So thats it no new games only this s*t game nd release dates of game that we already knw, the only good part was Pikmin 3 smh o_O

  7. I wasn’t expecting more than we saw, except for the Retro Studios game :( Weren’t they gonna show it? I’m not dissappointed because I’m actually patient enough to wait a couple more months to see a trailer of it. Hope it’s Starfox :O

  8. I do not like to get into this core vs casual debates. To me, games are games. While yes, I would like to see more “core” games, I am not throw a fit if they do not do right away. I just do something else productive instead of complaining.

  12. I feel like two unannounced minigames in NintendoLand are “Chase Mii” and the Metroid multiplayer game showed last year where one Mii is in Samus’ battle ship and the others were in Samus’ helmets on the ground trying to shoot it down. I would LOVE if Nintendo Land had these two minigames because I wanted to play them ever since I saw them last year! I was sad to know they “werent real” and only for “display.”

  15. how about instead of a video game Nintendo should make this into an actual amusement park. Think of how much money they suck out of people with over priced entry fees and merchandise. And of course fans would be glad to spend some money on something like that, I can’t be the only one…
