Fire Emblem: Awakening Announced For North America!

After the Nintendo 3DS software showcase, Reggie Fils-Aime revealed that Fire Emblem: Awakening will be coming to North America. The game was not part of the 3DS software showcase but was accidentally announced by Fils-Aime while he was speaking with Kotaku’s Stephen Totilo. The game was first released in Japan on April 19th. There is no release date given for North America’s version of Fire Emblem: Awakening but it will be released for Nintendo 3DS.

    1. I don’t know why they just won’t announce this during the show, it would make it so epic. Good news though, Your body was ready Reggie!!

  1. I wish they would just have announced this during the show, pull out the big guns Ninty. Good news either way!!

  2. Here, let me say it for you… YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  3. Considering that this is my all-time favorite series, this totally redeems E3 for Nintendo.

I’m so ready for this game!!

  4. Accidentally revealed it? You mean they had no intention of revealing it in the first place?

Good lord, just what the fuck is so wrong with revealing things like FIRE EMBLEM AWAKENING COMING TO AMERICA? That’s not even new release information, that’s just mere localization news! Man, it’s THAT much of a crime to say even THAT?

Anyways, I’ve just found my reason to get the 3DS now. Fire Emblem has always been my guilty pleasure.

      1. Aside from Sacred Stones and Fire Emblem Gaiden (an obscure NES release), this is the only Fire Emblem to feature grinding.
There are some features not in Sacred Stones, like marriage and reclassing, and some mechanics like weight and stealing are gone.
All in all, it’s a Fire Emblem: You move your units strategically on a grid, and level-ups are determined by the RNG goddess.

    1. Fire Emblem has always been my guilty pleasure too. Maybe now I’ll get a 3DS too. Though I’ve been telling myself I’m not going to get one until they release a Zelda for it that isn’t a remake like OoT 3D…

  5. I like how Reggie was like “Wait, that wasn’t on the Press Kit? Screw it, Imma throwing the fans a bone!”
