Activision Promises To Support Wii U In The Future

Activision Publishing boss Eric Hirshberg has confirmed that the developer and publisher will support Wii U in the future, but they are currently in no hurry to support the platform immediately. I suspect they want to see how the platform fairs before fully committing to bringing all their franchises to Wii U.

“[Wii U is] an interesting development and then they have that touch display device and you think about the kinds of things you might be able to do and – without getting into specifics – I absolutely have given it consideration and thought. We’re game developers and it’s a new piece of hardware and technology, so we’re always thinking about that stuff.”

  1. How the fuck will it do well if developers r gonna sit on ther fat nerdy arses and just “wait”? Not good enough!

  2. Why would you want to miss out on extra revenue by not supporting the Wii U for your company, it just doesn’t make sense.

    1. well. it actually costs money to port games to other platforms. and seing as this is a new console with a totally new controller (with the touchscreen and everything) they’re going to need to have somewhat of a new development team to focus on it. i mean for most games people have a team for every platform. so it makes sense for them to be cautious as to whether or not they want to risk the money on porting it over on a console with mixed reactions.

  3. It would be smarter to get in on the ground floor while there aren’t any major first party Nintendo games to compete with. Leave luck to heaven.

  4. has capcom even announced any games for the wiiu yet cause they were so supportive with the 3ds, but not so much the wiiu.
