IGN recently asked Nintendo to explain the differences between the upcoming Nintendo 3DS XL and the original Nintendo 3DS. Although the 3DS XL’s screens are bigger than the 3DS’s screens, Nintendo hasn’t made any changes to the 3DS XL’s displays, which “are made of the same materials as the 3DS.”
The 3DS XL’s speakers may seem different but produce the same sound quality as the 3DS’s speakers. The 3DS XL’s face buttons, D-pad, and shoulder buttons are, according to Nintendo, “slightly bigger than the 3DS buttons.”

The first huge difference is that, because of the size of the screen, the 3D effect is better and it doesn’t leave when you move a little.
Once you played on the 3DS XL it’s hard to come back to the 3DS. ^^

I can’t remember the last time a Zelda or Mario game actually challenged me. I stopped playing Mario Galaxy after a couple of hours because it was so easy.
I only played through New Super Mario Bros. Wii because of nostalgia, but that too was simple as all hell.
It goes both ways. And you want to talk challenging? Go try to play and finish any of the Halo games, namely Halo 1 or Halo: Reach, on legendary. Good luck with that: I am an avid Halo player and it took everything I had to beat Reach.
Nintendo games are only meant to the difficult the in post game(it’s the most evident in Kirby games). I can only think of a handful of exceptions to this. DKCR might just be the hardest game I’ve ever 100%’d.

From what Ive heard there is one, but there is a work around (I’ve never tried it myself) using a program, roms, wifi, and ofcourse a 3ds. like I said, I’ve never tried it, and wouldn’t know if it works but its on youtube.

It would be good if they upgraded the D-pad somewhat on the 3DS XL. The 3DS D-pad is not very good in my opinion, it feels creaky and squishy! The one on the DSLite is great. But if they didn’t, oh well, its not a big deal, the circle pad is more important anyways.
In all seriousness, I want this. I do find the normal 3ds screen a bit small for my liking and the 3DS XL will be perfect to use when the new AC game comes out
