Namco Bandai Character Joins PlayStation All-Stars (Video)

New characters are occasionally being confirmed for PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale. One of the latest characters who is confirmed for Sony’s Super Smash Bros. clone is Heihachi Mishima from Namco Bandai’s Tekken series. Namco Bandai is co-developing the next Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, so perhaps Heihachi will also join Nintendo’s upcoming brawler.

        1. tell you the truth i feel there going to ruin the ssb series come on there working with sony on that psa ssb rip off wtf! your right 100% mind fucked

          1. Actually if you think about it, that means Namco Bandai can give Nintendo some insight on what Sony is doing for their game!…wait they could do the same for Sony!!! OMG I wonder who they are more loyal to!???

        2. First of all
Namco made be co-developing Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS with Nintendo and Project Sora but
Tekken doesn’t have much games on Nintendo Platforms.
Nintendo will either get the following:
Tales of Character- Gamecube, DS, Wii, and 3DS all had games from this franchise and Lloyd is best choice.
Xenosaga Character- Monolith Soft is First Party of Nintendo so Nintendo will be able to get it.
Pacman Character- Pacman featuring on Mario Kart GP which was develop by Namco and Nintendo allowed it.
Soul Calibur Character- Gamecube Soul Calibur II had Link in it just like Soul Calibur II had Heihachi on PS2.

      1. Namco GTFO out of Nintendo’s game. Either take Heihachi Mishima out of the Sony Game which is a copy of SSB or GTFO Super Smash Bros. 4.

      1. They have nothing to lose by ‘lending’ characters to other companies’ fighting games. It’s free publicity after all. I’m pretty sure Street Fighter vs. Tekken has reignited interest in Tekken in the West.

        1. Pac-Man has entered the 3D Platformer genre and has had other games than Pac-Man Arcade. He can roll, throw pellets, butt bounce, and can box. Questions like yours could be applied to the Ice Climbers, Captain Falcon, even Mario.

          1. By that logic Nintendo sucks. They weren’t the first company to make a games console, they just copied the Magnavox Odyssey. Or that Yie Ar Kung Fu is the best fighting game, because it was the first and everything else copied it. Come on man, think about what you’re about to say before actually saying it.

And no, Playstation All-Stars ain’t a direct copy, coming from someone who played a live demo, it feels pretty different. Whether it’s good is a completely different question, but regardless your way of thinking is only gonna pull you down in life, honestly.

      1. Not at all. A character is going off to Sony smash. Whoop de dooh. Next thing you’re going to tell me is that showing gameplay or a trailer of the game is important because we need to see how the competition plays

        1. I fucking love you. I may be a Nintendo fan but you guys are just looking for any news that could be ‘POSSIBLY” related to Nintendo through bullshit.

  1. I don’t think he’ll go rite with nintendo’s smash bros. Game, tbh i like nintendo characters better in the game anyway

  2. Lala-Ru's Eyeballs

OOOOOOOOh Albaaaaaa…I see what you’re trying to do. *Hears rumbling and looks down to see pebbles shaking..”the fanboys are coming”*

  3. I would much rather see Pac-Man in Smash Bros. he would be much more fitting. Plus his final smash coupd be him eating a power pellet and everyone else turning blue.

      1. He is to Namco Bandai as Sonic is to Sega and Snake is to Konami. He is the most likely choice for this reason.

    1. Considering that Pac-Man was a special PlayStation exclusive character in Street Fighter X Tekken, he might just show up in this game too.

  4. This not nintendo news come hear everyday and dont want to read what character a ps3 game is gona get . I will go to a ps site for that. Clone or not it for sony its sony news nintendo fans dont care. If ur like the ps3 IGN have a ps3 page. u dont see them post sony EXCLUSIVE news on the wii u or 3ds page

    1. Namco Bandai, owners of Tekken, are developing the Next Smash. That they included one of their characters in what Sony hopes to be SSB rival franchise, is important news for both Nintendo and Sony fans.

      1. No it really isn’t. It is important to Sony fans, what Nintendo fan actually gives a fuck ONE character is going over to Sony smash. I get that namco bandai is helping develop smash, but that means they shouldn’t be able to support other games? The fuck?

          1. I was saying that this shouldn’t be news on a Nintendo site. I have no problem with a tekken character being a part of Sony Smash

            1. “I get that namco bandai is helping develop smash, but that means they shouldn’t be able to support other games? The fuck?”

              Sure.

                  1. you really don’t get what he said? dude THINK it’s pretty clear what he’s trying to say.
let me break it down for you:
“but that means they shouldn’t be able to support other games?” notice here how he Has a ? here meaning he is asking a QUESTION not a statement and also
notice how he has “The fuck?” after that.

    2. It’s prob made for starting flamewars.. Nothing beats the taste of a good flamewar in the morning…

  5. I think most of you guys are forgetting that they’re enlisting employees from Namco Bandai for their technical skill, not for their IPs and characters. I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t see any fighters representing NB.

    1. Having a Namco Bandai team developing the game, opens up the possibility of having that company’s characters in the game.

Sonic and Snake appeared in Brawl, and nobody from Konami or Sega worked for The Sora Team.

    1. I like how you pretend to like how we keep calling it a super smash bros clone, at a feeble attempt to degrade it lol

  6. Even if namco is developing ssb. We alrealdy had an idea to expect some characters. Please this site is going to mynintendo newsandallother thingthatwilllead tofanboy/girlnoise.com

  7. Looks like they’re going the Soul Calibur 2 route on this one. If you remember Soul Calibur 2 was released on the Gamecube, PS2 and XBox. Each version had a exclusive character. Todd MacFarlane’s Spawn on XBox, Heihachi Mishima on PS2 and Link on the Gamecube. If they follow this trend I think Jin will make an appearance in the next Super Smash Bros game. Leave luck to heaven.

  8. I honestly don’t care & honestly smash bro shouldnt get heihachi anyway why get something sony get so people can troll nintendo more saying they copy sony & beside sony need all the 3rd party characters they can get il be ok with pacman & rayman for smash

  9. Actually, I’m really looking forward to this game. It does look great. And it does have awesome characters I can’t wait to test out. It’s going to be a hard decision to choose between the Vita version and the Playstation 3 version. Even though I like Sony at least as much as Nintendo, I doubt that this game will be as successful as SSB. SSB is much better known after all, has much more fans and a much longer “tradition”. Nonetheless I do believe that this game will do very good as well.

    1. I grew up with both Sony and Nintendo consoles, (more Nintendo than Sony, though).
And to be honest, the PSASBR is looking very bland. It has many aspects that I dislike and that I hope they fix before releasing the game.

        1. The KO system, which doesn’t allow you to kill others without using a “Super Move”.
That same KO system is kind of broken, characters with the best “Supers” are most likely to win every match; I have read articles stating how they disliked Sweet Tooth’s 3rd Level Super, which could clear the screen twice and there was nothing you could really do.

The KO system also comes with its own troubles, the only way to score points is by using “Supers”, so if you get killed while you were trying to fill your Lvl 3 Super, you are pretty much scrwed, since the bars reset once you get killed. Thay could fix this, if instead of putting it back to 0, they take a percentage of it depending on how good you are doing or something.

I understand its still not finished, but its due in a few months, and Character animations are all just copy pastes of the other characters, you can see it in videos.
I have been told from people who played it that all characters feel pretty much the same; I understand they want balance, but how come Sly and Big Daddy feel both the same?

Those are the main aspects I am not liking, hope they fix them.

      1. Ditto. Its like having SSB with all the items off and no out of stage stuff. Damage doesnt even exist in the game…

            1. So you’re saying that you find games that lack the things SSB has boring. Means you basically dislike any game that is not SSB.

      2. Really ? We really have opposite opinions about the game, I guess (: I really like many aspects of it. So many people say that Sony is just “copying Nintendo again” but if they would care to take a deeper look into the game they would notice that it’s something completely different. And that’s what I like about it. I’m a huge SSB fan and even though PSASBR is completely different from it, it didn’t fail to impress me and catch my attention, not at all. I really hope Sony makes something really awesome out of it.

  10. This is quite possibly the worst post Alba has put on the site. Really? Who fucking cares that someone has joined playstation smash? This has absolutely nothing to do with Nintendo at all other than Namco Bandai is helping develop Smash. This only here to make Nintendo fanboys seem more like that they can’t handle something good happening to anyone other than themselves. Alba, fuck off, seriously. Talk about actual Nintendo news

    1. I do. I think it looks quite good. Not as good as Smash Bros, its looks boting in conparision, but i still think it’ll be a fun game, long as its not like Super SF4, where every character and stageis unlocked as soon as you press start.

But its more about what Namco characters we could see in SSB4.
Personally, id like Pacman, or DigDug, never been big on Tekken Or SC.
Or….seeing as they have the right to it, an make fighting games for it…and its Japanese….a DBZ character

          1. Pacman would be better off as an Assist Trophy.

It just seems fitting for a character like him, in my honest opinion.

            1. I duno, they turned oce climber, game and watch, and even ROB into a character, i dont doubt their ability.
I just hope most of the new characters from Brawl are gone, just keep Meta Knight, DeDeDe, Ike ( id rather Marth went), Wolf (i liked him more than Falco, he just needs de-cloning more), Pit and Olimar.

  11. This is Nintendo news how exactly? I mean, I don’t mind the updates for PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale but there really should be a MyPlayStationNews for this kind of stuff.

  12. I like how this non-Nintendo news was spun into a Nintendo context. You really should have left that Vita Life website open for news like this. Lots of news like these are just pushing it.

  13. There are some Tekken characters I would like to see in the next Smash Bros game as playable characters, but Heihachi isn’t one of them.

  14. Well I dont really care. All Star Battle Royale can keep this sucky character! I would rather somone better than whoever that guy was up there!! Maybe like Ivy from Soul Calibur(well her boobs might be too big for a super smash game) :/ Pac-man? He is still better than Heichi.

    1. “Maybe like Ivy from Soul Calibur(well her boobs might be too big for a super smash game) :/”

Which is why we NEED to have her in this game. Give a middle finger, actually give the ESRB a reason for giving the game a Teen rating. If we can have Solid Snake a guy from an M rated game who kills and swears then why not a sexy lady from a Teen rated fighting game?

What are they gonna do to keep her out? She’s not nude, just wearing suggestive clothing. If Capcom can get away with a Teen rating in MVC3 despite having a naked cat girl running around then we can have Ivy.

Now since we had Solid Snake, I would really like someone from Eternal Darkness in the new SSB. It’s one of the few M rated franchises exclusive to Nintendo.

    2. I for to say but it’s also to show that Nintendo makes games for everyone that includes adults and not every game is for kids. I really hope we get Pious or Alexis from Eternal Darkness in.

    3. Plus Bayonetta has a good chance of making it in since she’s owned by Sega and Bayonetta 2 is gonna be exclusive to the Wii U and again Solid Snake made it in and that game was made basically all about her butt and Zero Suit Samus is in cause of her butt.

    4. And one or two characters of fan service, or hell one game isn’t gonna ruin SSB, they can always go back, this could be Namco’s take on the Nintendo world, just a one time “what if” thing. They can always go back. Hey it’s better then doing the same stuff over and over until it gets stale. And it’s not like Zero Suit Samus, Peach, Zelda or Shike aren’t already fan service, I mean hearts fly out when Peach hits you with her big butt. Hell even Solid Snake is fan service for the ladies and gay men cause just like Samus his suit shows off the shape of his body.

And saying Ivy’s boobs are “too big” is kind of mean to girls who really do have big boobs, as long as there’s a realistic variation in breast size I.E. Not everyone is huge, Ivy is the only big one while everyone else is different size whats the problem?

  15. Sony=Offbrand clones

This game looks like shovelware trash. Smash bros 4 will be worth the wait. __- fuck namco and sony yeah i said it.

  16. JEHOVAS WITNESS PROTECTION

I hope Microsoft does something similar. It would have the potental to make $$$. Imagine halo, gow, banjo, viva pinata, james bong, killer instinct, conker, perfect dark and the kremlins from donkey kong along with 3rd party ips and Xbox live it would be epic!

    1. Microsoft doesn’t own the rights to anything in the Donkey Kong franchise. Nintendo owns every Donkey Kong-related.

  17. look at all the nintendo drones, no disrespect to nintendo but you all sound like lil fag calling sonys game a copy yo act as if nintendo is always innovative.
