BitBlock has managed to capture some great footage of New Super Mario Bros U from this years Comic Con, which has been taking place in San Diego. The New Super Mario Bros U demo is actually the same demonstration I played a few months back, so no doubt a few of you will have already seen the levels on display. Still, the game is clearly looking great.

The camera makes it look bad
Ok did you see the lightning effects. As Mario or Koopa or Goomba approach the shiny star their bodies shines depending on direction where.
The models are sharp and really animated great and the backgrounds has layers which make it great.
The game speed is pretty fast as well.
That’s special for Mario games, maybe, but something that is old as far as modern games are concerned.

That’s the first thing I told the Nintendo rep when I played the game a while ago. Online co-op would be brilliant.
That would really be the best innovation for the series since 4-player local co-op. Nothing really catches my eye as a stand out title. Hopefully they add plenty of new stuff before it comes out to change my mind.

The backgrounds look awesome. The polish put into this is pretty apparent, too. Can’t wait too see what else has been mixed up, because I’m not sure about this purchase just yet.

The background really caught my attention
Actually what I found almost as interesting was the conversation at the beginning explaining why Animal Crossing is taking so long to get to us. The gameplay footage was cool too, Nintendo never stops amazing me with how much they can keep bringing fresh new level design to their games.

It’s great to see her face light up when she spat the fireball on the goomba, to see her do a really hard jump… she was smilling and laughing and was happy. My son couldn’t manage it he keep dying by the first enemy but he is young so no sweat.

I have to agree with you there, Legends looks amazing.
This has the same graphical style as the previous NSMB games, with pretty moving backgrounds (which has been done before). Rayman Origins was a phenomenal platformer, and Rayman Legends looks to be the same. I’m very excited for it. This.. not so much.
