Japanese firm Media Create has revealed that a massive 70 percent of all video game software and hardware sales in Japan are for Nintendo platforms. Media Create says that this is the largest share of the market Nintendo has held in the past five years. Just to put this in perspective, Sony accounts for 25 percent of video game software and hardware sales in Japan.

well if you remember the ps2 (which was EPIC!!!!) had the most japanese support. and as a result had this wide variety of artistic japanese games rangeing from rpg’s to fighter to etc etc .
the ps3 is trying to be a 360 . if the playstation could do the ‘japanese thing’ and the ‘western thing’ together they would be supreme . but to me the ps3 is just a second 360 .
its no way near as fun as the ps2 was!! .
the wii has provided me with my artistic japanese games this gen. and the 3ds is further proof of this . the 3ds’s best games all come from japan . while the psvita is usuing all of its western sudios to make these dull games that have no interest in japan or for the more ‘varied’ gamer like myself .

I’m sure that you already noticed many news about how the japanese games are “declining”, and I think that Microsoft had part of guilt. I mean, japanese games are awesome and pretty much have the same mechanics from decades and right now starts to be decadent because they follow the “same path” like decades ago? Still there is many creative games that came (and still are coming) from there, but, tries to notice that always that someone says negative things about japanese games, It has some relation to M$ or M$ games, or even japaneses that makes games for M$ or gamer reviews. It’s at least curios, xbox 360 sold shit on japan, a contry where people buy more games than others countries, and suddenly japoneses are doing wrong or are declining? I’m not the type of guy that makes “conspirations” and I still believe that I like japanese games because of the way they conduce their games (specially JRPGs), if the japaneses starting to make games like ocident, what kind of interest I should have for their games?
