A new discovery has been uncovered in Pokemon Black & White 2 despite the fact that the game has been out in Japan for some time now. One of the most recent discoveries is how the game’s breeding system has been changed from previous Pokemon games. Here’s what has been ascertained by Siliconera:
- Each Pokémon has a single pre-designated ability
- There’s no way of changing what this is
- Some Pokémon are capable of having one of two pre-designated abilities
- The ability is chosen at random when you encounter the Pokémon in the wild
- During breeding, the baby Pokémon’s ability is now dependent on its mother
- If the mother is a dual-ability type, the baby has an 80% chance of inheriting that ability
- This gives the baby a 20% chance of inheriting the other ability that the mother doesn’t have
- You can now 100% guarantee that your Pokémon will inherit a nature from one of its parents
- To do this, give one of the parents an Everstone to hold

Interesting. I like reading into the mechanics of games (especially pokemon for whatever reason).
i am sooooooo excited for pokemon bw2.
bw1 was one of the funnest games i have ever played hands down.
it was worthy of the 40/40 score it recieved in famitsu magazine.
my only problem is some of the pokemon felt a little bit silly. (trashbags and plank holder to name a few XD) . other than that , a truly stellar portable game.
pokemon bw2 is number 2 on my list right behind the wiiu and all of its good launch games.

Yeah I found out the hard way (constant resetting of game) that you can’t change the newly hatched pkmn’s ability or sex. This’ll be helpful to breeding enthusiasts.

Oh, thank you. I was a little confused I should l2read. Breeding Pokemon is enjoyable for me even though it take ages to get the right gender, IVs and Nature.
it’s BEEN like this for ages though. I did this all the time in 4th generation. It’s particularly useful to collect a bunch of different dittos and give the everstone to the one with the nature you want. if you want egg moves, you should first breed the moves normally until you obtain a male, then breed that with a ditto w/ everstone.
As for the IV problem, you can use Power Items (e.g. Power Brace) To pass over the IV of one of the parents varied on which Power item you use. (E.G. Power Lens will pass Sp.Attack IVs.)

B&W was going to be my last Pokemon game unless there was a ruby/sapphire remake until I heard about this. I think I’ll stay with the series for awhile still. I would love to see a 3ds Pokemon in the future.

Considering that the Mother determines what pokemon comes from the egg, this was obvious.
– You can now 100% guarantee that your Pokémon will inherit a nature from one of its parents. To do this, give one of the parents an Everstone to hold
It’s been like this for ages… I did this all the time in 4th generation. it’s also notable that the IVs of Pokemon can be bred over having a parent hold one of the Power items (e.g. Power Brace.) It will pass over IVs related to the stat the Power item helps boost.

Pokemon is the hands down best gaming series. None of the mainstream titled have ever let me down, and that’s pretty much the only series I can say that for. Even Zelda has had some disappointing entries (TP was ugh, and PH and ST were straight up embarrassing). However the main titles of Pokemon. (R,B,Y,G,S,C,RB,SP,E,D,P,PL,B, and W) have all been amazing. And B and W 2 will be just as good.

To each there own lol. I didn’t hate TP font get me wrong, but it didn’t live up to the hype behind it IMO. A good game but not a great one. The DS titles were trash though. I hated them with a passion. But to me Pokemon is the king of games. Each game is packed chock-full of detail and story.

I also didn’t mention this, but I think Pokemon does remakes RIGHT. They add so much new stuff while maintaining what we loved about the title in the first place, making it seem like a new game but keeping the nostalgia of the original. No company does it like GameFreak
