Square Enix Working On New Developments For The World Ends With You

Director Tatsuya Kando apologizes to those who are waiting for new developments for The World Ends With You, and hopes they can wait because Square Enix is working on a variety of other things related to the game. In the meantime, Kando tells fans of the title to play The World Ends With You Solo Remix for iOS because, he claims, it won’t feel like a port of the original version for Nintendo DS.

“For those who were waiting for new developments for TWEWY, sorry to have kept you waiting. Solo Remix is a game with such a high level of completion that you won’t feel that it’s a port. If you play it and post Tweets to Twitter, the world will expand even further. We’re working on a variety of other things, but first please enjoy Solo Remix.”

  1. iOS HD port, lol.

What’s funnier is the “trolls” were correct with that prediction even before they accidentally leaked it.

  2. I bought a second copy on the DS to play through it again, but never got around to it. Bought both the iPad and iPhone versions to play on the go and to show my support for the game. This is one of my all-time favorite games and one of the only games I consider worth so much investment. I disagree with Tatsuya Kando, though. It does feel like a port. It’s a very well-made port like Ocarina of Time 3D was very well-made port for the 3DS and also worth every penny, but a port nontheless. I still recommend itl though, because the game is fantastic.

    1. It is a surprisingly good port/remake of the game,
I enjoyed every bit of it so far,
And don’t understand all the hate it’s been getting ://

      1. The same reason Wind Waker got hate when it was first announced… sort of, in a way, excuse the poor allegory coming up. Zelda fans were shown a realistic, epic sword fight between Link and Gannondorf, and then a year later they were shown Wind Waker.
In this case, fans expected a sequel and instead we got a port/remake. It’s probably great, but it isn’t what we wanted or expected.

I am a stupid loser because i get ripped off by a stupid company name Microsoft and abecause i am a stupid, fat, 12 year old, americaan, xbox fanboy who sits and plays cod all day.

  4. Useless countdown. Raised peoples hope for a sequel but instead we got a remix which sucks cause i played it on my friends phone. So Umm.. Here’s my cock suck it square Enix :)

  5. How can I enjoy a crapped down version of a better game? How desperate can you be to expect people to enjoy something you know you didn’t put your heart into and only did it for the money?

Your partners are now all just summons, thus negating the very idea of two partners working together in different dimensions. That not only goes against the spirit of the gameplay, but also against the spirit of the story itself. That’s pretty damn bad.

But hey, I guess if you’re a graphics whore, those things are all just DERP aren’t they.

  6. I’m not really surprised since people were expecting a sequel and got a ios version instead, squre enix always listen to their fan, something capcom need to work on.

  9. Hahahaha the only iThing I have is a Shuffle. .__. All my handhelds are gifts and as much as I love twewy, I’m not getting an iPhone just to play a port. ;__; I hope those “developments” will mean a sequel soon…or not soon. Someday, at least.
