Amazon Lists Wii U Price & December Release Date

According to a listing on Amazon.fr, Nintendo’s forthcoming console will be released in Europe on December 21st and will cost 349.99 Euros, which is equivalent to about $440 USD. The listing does mention, however, that the price will most likely change and the Wii U is expected to launch prior to Christmas. Remember – a recent rumor suggests that Wii U’s release date has been delayed to December across Europe.

      1. Amazon overestimates prices for sake of pre-orders in situations like this. It’s obviously and overshoot, but it is far easier to knock the price of pre-orders down than it is to ask people for more money.

          1. you are a dumb ass the reason xbox and ps3 cost a lot when they first launched is because they were top of line in tech the Wii U is a pathetic piece of crap that’s 6 years to late

  1. NO NO NO NO NO DEAR GOD NO. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.ok im done

  2. Let’s wait for Nintendo’s final words on release date and price before sharing your hate on comments. Also, I think the release date for North America is close to 19 Nov. since the Wii launch was exactly this date.

      1. Nintendo surely knows how to keep up the hype, I just hope they don’t break it at the final level of the game.
About the price, it’s not gonna be that expensive, reggie and iwata said it. and that’s the entire idea behind getting an HD console 6 years later than sony and microsoft: It comes packed with a new controller and new concepts but the technology is cheaper than a half-decade past. ”Balance” is the word.

        1. shut up and back to buisness.we have to think about ur next looking at,graphics, gameplay and other media.BACK TO WORK!immigrant

            1. The guys name is banjo and since seigfried likes microsoft he’s telling banjo to go back to business since
              Banjo is owned by microsoft

    1. I believe the price will most likely be $299-$349 in US, and probably $449-$499 AU. Australian prices are usually well over the US ones, like the PS3 which launched at almost $1000 here.

    1. Nintendo releases their products in America on Sundays. A GameStop employee told me this. It will probably release the Sunday before Thanksgiving at $299.99. By the way, how come The Last Story didn’t come with a survey code for coins through Club Nintendo but Kingdom Hearts did?

It’s all conjecture, there’s a block on all information regarding Wii U pricing and dates the nobody dare disobey.

    2. Yeah because microsoft and sony just love their customers and sell their products for as cheap as possible don’t they?

        1. How could Nintendo remake fucking Banjo when it’s owned by Microsoft. It’s not like Microsoft care about Banjo, or Rare at all, are Microsoft’s fans asking for Kinect Sports huh?

            1. And I said, in case you didn’t read the comment, they can’t BECAUSE MICROSOFT OWNS RARE
can you learn to read before commenting next time?

                1. They haven’t been allowed to get a 3DS Developer kit, Microsoft allowed them to have a DS one, but they might not for the 3ds.

                  1. siegfried von schroder

Microsoft should not had allowed them to take even a ds but since microsoft is the best gaming company they allowed them

                    1. Well, Microsoft would have got the money from the DS release – and anyway, the game was already being ported when they bought Rare.

    3. Yet you pay the richest company in the world a monthly/yearly fee for a service you can get free on any other platform?

  3. Lol if they price a system 440 bucks that doesnt have any games worth getting that aren’t already on other systems and has first party garbage (besides Pikmin 3… MSMBU is a rehashed game we have played a billion times before. And Nintendo Land is a joke)? The thing wouldn’t survive 3 months with a price like that. I don’t see it succeeding at launch anywhere over 250$

    1. And that’s where the 3DS comes in, selling thousands months after because of the lowered price and better games.

          1. sickr can you ban these two morons they have nothing better to do then talk down about nintendo all day go do something productive dumbasses

  4. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, American gamers, you seriously take your gaming costs for granted. The Wii was $400 at launch here, the PS3 $1000 and the 360 $600. The 3DS was $350 before the cut to $250, and the Vita… I don’t quite recall but I think it was around $400, though it may have been more, I didn’t really follow it. Odds are we will be getting this console for anywhere up to $200 more than you, and it’s games will cost twice as much. Feel lucky.

      1. nintendo isnt even close to segas position
        segas problems-
        bad business management
pointless add-ons too close to the nearing of next gen (something microsoft is doing atm)
piracy- dreamcast games could be burned on to a cd-r
        third partys hated them
lack of sonic game for sega saturn
        company going bankrupt

tell me when nintendo becomes like that, ok thanks, its not going to be for awhile lol

    1. Seigfried pls , your trolling is too obvious and is plain annoying now ..atleast put some effort into your trolling.

  5. The WiiU won’t be $440 in the US! If the price really was 349€, which i highly doubt, the US price’d be like exactly $350 too. Look at the Wii, it cost 249€ in Europe and $249 in the US, although 249€ are $320. Same with 3DS/XL. Consoles always are more expensive over here.

  7. Launching less than one week before x-mas, when most people have already made their major x-mas purchases would be a horrible business move. (so would a $440 USD release price)
I don’t think either is true, but if they are, the Wii U will have to be amazing to overcome these opening day hurdles,

  8. I’m optimistic that this isn’t the final price, given that Nintendo has claimed countless times the system would be affordable. My limit is still set at $300.

  9. That’s probably bullshit.
But can someone explain to me WHY would the Wii U solely be delayed in Europe, and not other continents?

  10. amazon germany has been listing the wii u for 349.99 € (releas 21st december) for months! it even says it’s probably not gonna be this price and release date

  11. Well it wouldnt be $440 because the exchange rate doesnt mean shit. If the europe price is correct it would probably be $400 max in USA

        1. Heh, come to Australia, you’re jaw will drop when you see the pricing here XD got my VITA in a bundle for $350. Got my 3DS for $350 before the price drop.

    1. How come? Their conferences suck, they don’t have that much of exclusives just putting Kinect bullshit instead and paying 60$ a year to play online is stupid. Not against Micro though, but seriously

  12. Oh Amazon, more placeholder prices aye? Aw well, I’ll just wait for Nintendo to announce the price …. If that ever happens lol

  13. I really don’t think it’s going to cost that much. Nintendo has stated numerous times that they have learned their lesson with the 3DS pricing and will be very aggressive. I think I may be the only one that believes that Nintendo WiiU will actually cost a lot LESS than people are thinking. They need to be competitive with the current generation of home consoles even though WiiU is next gen.

    1. If only all the people in this world could think like you do… How can people think that Amazon is able to fix the right price even without Nintendo’s anouncement, lol. Trolls just wait this kind of news so they can say bullshit as much as they want, as if they were right about it.

    1. The $US and $AU are about equal right now.
But we always get consoles and games more expensive. Remember when the PS3 was $999 at launch?

      1. Thanks man :)
Yeah I remember that, Americans complained about $599, at I’m pretty sure us and au were about the same then too lol

  14. Personally I’m not going to even attempt to guess a price or listen to any rumours… else I risk being outraged at it being a lot higher than I thought/hoped. I can bet a lot of people will be outraged at the announcement, but then you’ll have brought it on yourself for having an expectation on something with no details.

  15. Guys, the only reason Ness is here is because people started to ignore him in 3dsBlogandNews and Wii u blog.So he’ll just go away if we ignore him here.

  16. That’s not the real price I will say that. It will cost less websites that sell games and game systems always over exaggurate the price. Just look at game stop’s website, Wii U games are priced at 99 dollars with which you can preorder. There’s no need to fuss over the supossed price.

  18. I don’t really trust this. Amazon list a supposed price for the Wii U before Nintendo have even released the official price? Naah, I really doubt this price is legit.

This is just me, but I think a reasonable price for the Wii U would be £200-£350
