Nintendo Reissue Wave Race Trademark

Nintendo of America has reissued the trademark for its acclaimed and much-loved Wave Race franchise. The trademark for Wave Race was reissued by Nintendo of America on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, and was registered and renewed. Wave Race Wii U?

  1. You guys do realise that reissuing a trademark is just standard business right? It only means they don’t want anyone else to make a game called Wave Race, renewing a trademark doesn’t mean anything.

    1. They ran out of things to post. Brace yourselves, soon-ish Pachter bullshits coming as there is nothing else to post I bet.

When I read this I kind of facepalmed. :/

    1. Oh heck yes that is the one game that I want out of all N64 remakes possible… along with DK64, MM, Pokemon Snap, Rogue Squadron, Diddy Kong Racing, Pokemon Stadium, 1080, F-Zero X, Blast Corps, Banjo-Kazooie (I know it’s impossible, but hey), Goldeneye, Excitebike 64, Turok, etc. Darn, that’s a lot of classics!

  2. God I hope so, I hope it’s not solely to protect the name and make sure others don’t use it, but that Nintendo will use it.

  3. I hope that this is because they’re making one on the Wii U. Not making one on the Wii was kinda understandable and the Wii controls used in Wii Sports are kinda meh…

Mave Race: Blue Storm is one of my favourite racing games of all-time (Never played the N64 one)! I loved racing on the water, I liked the tracks, and I loved using Akari Hayami because she shook he butt towards the screen every so often…

If they do make a new one, hopefully it’s on the Wii U with polished HD graphics, even better water effects, more than 8 characters, maybe a Jet ski customizer, Mii support, more courses, and of course, online play!

  4. Doubt it means a new game but if so I’d prefer it to be on the 3DS first. Would be cheaper to make and lets Nintendo see what the demand for a fully blown console game would be. Can see that happening for F-Zero too.

  5. Wouldnt mind this coming back, migr be better suited for 3DS though, would look awssome having water splashes in a 3D effect

  6. I’ve actually had a used copy of Wave Race Blue Storm sitting in my game collection for over a year that I’ve never played… I should play it to fix that problem.
