Mass Effect 3 Developer Working On Two More Projects For Wii U

Wii U’s version of Mass Effect 3 is being developed by Australian studio Straight Right – not BioWare. Straight Right head Tom Crago has revealed that he and his team are working on two other titles for Nintendo’s forthcoming console. One of them is an original game, while the other is based on a “big franchise” that will be released in 2013. Mass Effect 3 is scheduled to launch alongside Wii U this holiday.

“It’s going to be a launch title, but of course we don’t know quite yet when the hardware will launch. We intend to be there that same day.”

“This is the biggest title we’ve worked on in a long time. There’s a significant technical challenge bringing the game from its original format to the Wii U. It’s a new, different and sophisticated piece of hardware, so there’s a good deal of technical energy that’s been expended making that happen.”

“We’ve made a number of bets on the Wii U, so we’re certainly hoping that the platform comes strongly out of the gate. We’ve got two other titles in development.”

“One of them is original, our own IP, and another is based on another big franchise that will come out in 2013. It’s a big title and you will have heard of it.”

  1. the wiiu will sell . especialy if its game are cheaper than 720 and ps4 games.

in todays economy most gamers want the cheapest most fn package.
we all keep saying , sony and microsoft are aware of this too.
its not just about power , maybe for one audience it is . but some hardcore gamers dont have as much time or money as others.

playstation and microsoft will make consoles that are not even much more powerfull than wiiu .
that’s if they want to sell more than 60M in 6 years this time.

    1. Mass Effect 1 would be almost impossible, since Microsoft owns the publishing rights for consoles.

Mass Effect 2 however I would love to see as a £20 download only title with updated graphics, removed glitches, all of the DLC, ME3-like Gamepad features and maybe some new content if we get lucky. Freaking love that game.

      1. Bing Bang Bop!!! Microsoft pisses me off because they always buy things like “Rare” and “Mass Effect 1” and crap and they ruin companies or ruin it for everyone else. They are trying to do the same with Activision Blizzard…. greedy bastards Bop Bam BOOM!!!

  2. Looking forward to picking up ME3 on Wii U. I can’t wait to see these 2 games they’ve got coming to the Wii U. Wii U’s got a lot of good stuff coming. It’s gonna be huge! Leave luck to heaven.

  4. I’m betting it’s Dragon Age for the other port and I can’t wait to see their own IP. Man what a busy developer. Kudos to them.

  5. Big title of 2013?

Guessing their relationship with EA (they worked on NFS for iOS), I’m guessing it’s going to be a port of Battlefield 4 which is confirmed to be in development.

  6. When they finally are announced, even of they are good, trolls like Aelous would down play the f**k out of them. Pathetic.

    1. Well, it’s either downplay them in the hopes that someone will be convinced to play the systems the trolls own instead so that they will have the chance of adding someone on their friends list, or cry that their friends lists on their games are still completely empty and regret never trying to do something about it.
They’re too stupid to figure out any other way, after all.

  7. I’m confused, should I be disappointed because Straight Right isn’t such a good developer, or shopuld I be happy that there are 2 more games?
