    1. I bought the special edition copy of this on PC. The limited edition comes with several coding and script books to help gamers get their game into the gaming industry. The game actually switches back and forth between old school graphics and 3D environments. Being the Wii-U is a new gen console then it takes longer because they have redo a lot of scripting and coding to suit the mobile console; when a game can be made into an XBLA or PSN game a little easier.

    1. I love it when kids think they understand video game development. Have you ever tried making one before? Takes a long time. Especially for an indie team.

      1. Could you please look up something called RPG Maker. It’s a prgoram that allows you to make simple sprite based games. I know nothing about real game development, and I will be the first person to admit this. However, going by the picture and the video link given in the article, this game is being created using all the pre-rendered and thus simple stuff that comes with the RPG Maker package. I would never say game development is easy, but I’m not overexagerating when I say that I could(if I wished) create a game similar to the one shown above.

        1. Idiot. RPG Maker uses first person battle style and has graphics totally different to this. Add to this that it only makes basic executables and would never reach consoles. RPG Maker is a child’s tool, not something for serious retail developers.

          1. First, don’t call me an idiot. You don’t know who I am, and I have never insulted you. Second, there is more than one version of RPG Maker. This is one of them. I believe it’s
either RPG Maker 2003 or Xp, I can’t remember off the top of my head, but one of the versions of RPG Maker defrinetly uses these sprites(like exact character sprites) and battle system. Lastly, I never claimed Maker wasn’t a children’s toy, and you’re right it isn’t something for “serious retail developers.” That is what makes this situation more puzzling. Also, please look up information on what you’re saying before spouting insults towards people.

            1. Yes I have the newest version.

              RPG Maker VX Ace
I also have RPG Maker VX
I already started a game but didn’t continue because I need some folks to help.
              – Script
              – Music Composer
              – Some great monsters and bosses
              just about anything.

          2. Well I’m sorry, your stupidness, but the picture shown here is from RPG Maker 2,003. Look it up before you call anybody idiot, idiot.

        2. Well being the developer was one of the initial people who came up with the scripting, coding and character elements in 1992 that was later used in RPG makers today. Would make sense. But easier to gripe then really look and understand something before go around dissing it.

  1. WHAT??? What the hell is the point of releasing the game TWO years later? A few months I can get, but a two YEARS??? I just don’t get it.

    1. Maybe they just got the Dev unit? Maybe there’s time/money spent upgrading to Wii U hardware? Maybe there’s additional features/gameplay in the Wii U version?

    1. No, it shows that the wiiu is a next generation console. Which means that they have to get used to to how it works, using the game pad, etc. It’s just common sense.

  2. It looks like it was straight up made from RPG Maker… like same sprites and everything… How would this sell for sixty dollars…? Who would be stupid enough to buy it for sixty? >.>

  3. “YOUR FIRED!!
    Uh ??”

Lol, what is this, a 14 year old making a game in RPG maker? sixty bucks for something that canbe done in 2 months by one person? Yeah, good fucking riddance.

  4. I swear there’s some free MMOs online which look better than this.

Completely ignoring this game – it should be something for Ouya and only Ouya (and iOS).

  5. So I’ve done some snooping around the web… there are a lot of conflicting ideas about the actual release date, some websites claiming that it’s 2013 for all consoles, some it’s 2015.

That’s the most substantial story I can find on the game.
The BGG Productions website is extremely amateur and doesn’t mention the game. There’s no Wikipedia article, something I would have thought would exist if the game was a “hit”.
I don’t think this game really exists, guys. Some rumour or false story has been picked up everywhere for… god knows why.

    1. Yeah well when you are snooping around lower based websites. The person over the development is a pretty big name actually. And being they easily be found on one biggest websites on net for gaming which is GameFaqs. http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/682487-deaths-apprentice
If you spend your time doing something productive; instead griping about people’s hard work on web…then you might actually be able make your own game and realize how much harder process actually is.

  6. Bing Bang Bop!!! 60 bucks for a game that looks like.. THAAT!? That is a load of crap! I dont even think Microsoft or Sony fanboys/girls would be stupid enough to buy this game. Who cares if it comes 2 years late? Im not getting it anyway! Bop Bam BOOM!!!

    1. I certainly hope you’re right. I used to spend hours and hours in middle school using RPG Maker 2003 — this game here makes my best RPG (aptly titled DestinyQuest) look like a masterpiece.

  8. That makes no sense….there must be a mistake, why would any developer need an additional two years after release to release it on a more updated console?

  9. Okay, can someone tell me how this is supposedly worth 60 dollars? It’s not even impressive for an amateur product, I can go off and play something like Mushroom Kingdom Fusion or Psycho Waluigi for free and get something ten times better. It seems overpriced even for the app store, let alone a boxed retail game.

  10. Has annyone noticed how in various sites talking about this, there’s always a comment of someone that says he/she bought the game, and how awesome and large and spectacular it is, with stuning 3d graphics turning to 2d graphics, with awesome shit and a especial edition with 8 cd’s and a lot of extra crap, from a person that has worked in movies, with a degree in psicology and some shit like that? Damn, What the fuck

No kidding. I honestly suspect the ‘company’ behind this is astroturfing and making these fake comments as last minute damage control. I even destroyed the claims of these fake commenters in a blog entry here:
