Pokemon Black 2 & White 2 Are “Made For The Fans”

While all Pokémon games  are supposed to appeal to everyone, Nintendo’s Seth McMahill believes upcoming Nintendo DS titles Pokémon Black 2 & White 2 are made specifically for core fans of the series. For example, Misty, who is a Gym Leader in the original Pokémon games for Game Boy, is a part of the World Tournament in Pokémon Black 2 & White 2. The games will launch October 7th in North America, October 11th in Australia, and October 12th in Europe.

“If you look also at all the Pokémon that are included, like non-Unova Pokémon—Mareep’s in there, one of my favourites from Gold/Silver—they really kind of made this one the Pokémon player’s game. It’s really aimed at a player of the core series. A fan. Look at Join Avenue, an area where shops open up the more you communicate with other players. There’s the World Tournament, where you can fight old Gym Leaders. Misty’s in there. That takes me back to the Blueversion, before I even worked at Nintendo.”

“So, although this game appeals to anybody—obviously, I have to say that, as I work at Nintendo—as a Pokémon fan myself, when I first picked it up and started playing it, I was absolutely blown away. I was like, ‘This game is made for the fans.’ Anybody can play it, but a fan is going to love it, because they’ve opened up all those things.”

      1. *insert Aeolus saying ”you’re right because pokemon is for casuals its not aimed at the fans anymore”.

Even though the game is now better and more ‘hardcore’ than it ever has been …..

        Ev

  1. I’m a fan, i want a ruby sapphire remake, not the black and white games, 5th gen isnt as good as the rest of the series if you ask me

    1. 3rd gen is my favourite, but I also like white. Got white 2 in Japan too. I prefer black/white to some of the other games in the series. If things go as they have been, we may get a remake soon. I want a new Pokemon on the 3ds. :)

  2. Well the games should always be made for the fans regardless. Sure the game can be played for everyone but I did Nintendo could always add so much more to the Polemon games. I have played other versions where a fan made changes to the game over the of and it’s always better. Time will tell though I really want to play it. Just hope Nintndo does not forget about the 3DS and release a Pokemon game for that handheld

  3. You guys better get a mothafucking magikarp or else… Why, you ask? Because:

  5. I would love love it if they could find a way to make the current land mass connect to the previous regions. That would be great. It’s nice to see that a few of the older Pokemon are in the new one. Now if they could include Pikachu and Charmander……. Can’t wait to see what awaits us October 7th!

    1. I bought white 2, haven’t gotten that far yet though, got stuck at one part. I couldn’t find one of the gym leaders lol. They were in the same area only just a bit farther in it if I had checked… Anyways, I don’t think that you are able to go back to other regions sadly, though that would be cool! Seemed like it was kind of hinted I thought. I want a remake of 3rd gen and hopefully a game where you can go to all regions, that would be the biggest Pokemon game ever!

  6. as the first games in the series marketet as “sequels” rather than standing on their own, its kind of an obvious thing to say, that those games appeal more to fans / owners of black/white, than to new players…

    1. Hey dragon , is it just me or is Borderlands 2 really really tough ??
I am getting through it slowly . Only done about 5 hours with ZERO , but god it’s tough but exhilerating !!

        1. Its fucking awesome , thats what I see in it . Its everything that isnt metroid prime you could dream of in an FPS .

If you haven’t played it then you don’t know . Thats why I’m asking Dragon324 who has expressed the fact that he is playing and is far through it .
I just wana know whether I am doing something wrong , bus trust me , its tough !! . I am getting through it , but I cannot help but think its tougher than your average game.

          1. It is tougher, because of the fact you have to think xD and its an RPG, so theres alot of different types of enemies too, and different ways to beat them. A good personal tip is to try and keep more than 5-6 weapons to deal with different enemies, and enviroments, and use that character skill. Zeros got a damn good sniper skill tree, but you dont need it all, so try the bloodshed tree to help out with sneaking up on enemies.

            1. Yeh , i’m maxin out my headshot’s :P . And yeh nice advice equip 4 main weapons and carry like 2 elemental for different situations !.

I always get through it , although sometimes i run in expecting to kill everybody and I get pwned !!! lol

      1. It depends, if you go all the side missions, then not really, although you do get to some parts and enemies that are pretty tough. Make sure you use your skill points and skill effectively, and have weapons that match your character skill and gameplay style. Also try to pick up elemental weapons, they help alot.

        1. I did play the first Borderlands though and i was playing as Maya in my first playthrough, so obviously i cant give a perfect answer as i havent played as Zero yet

        2. Right ! , so do pretty much all the sidequests so I’m up to level/scratch as I progress. There is a few sidequests I need to go and do so if I go and do them it will be easier !! cheers .

  7. Yes! This and Halo 4 are the only games I need for the rest of the year! I just hope it isn’t the exact same game as normal black and white. I know the stories different. But I don’t want it to be too predictable. Wish it came out for 3DS though.

  9. Just because they threw some fan service in there, it doesn’t mean it’s been made for the fans. If they’d been listening to the fans they’d be working on some sort of open world Pokemon MMORPG.
Then again I may be biased because I don’t particularly like the 5th gen games.
