New Super Mario Bros 2 DLC Coming To North America October 4th

Players worldwide have collected more than 100 billion gold coins in New Super Mario Bros 2 for the Nintendo 3DS. That tally is set to skyrocket exponentially as Nintendo offers new Coin Rush Mode levels for the game. Several new downloadable add-on level packs will be made available to game owners, with the first three packs launching on Oct. 4. Each new pack contains three courses and can be purchased from within the game* at a price of $2.50 per pack. Subsequent packs will be on the way, with the next arrivals at the end of October and the end of November.

The packs being released on Oct. 4 include:

  • Gold Rush Pack: Fun new courses that give novice players the best chance to collect lots of gold, and veterans the chance to set even higher Coin Rush records.
  • Coin Challenge Pack A: The New Super Mario Bros. 2 website will track the rankings based on the scores for this pack, enabling players to measure their scores against other tallies from around the world in these more open courses.
  • Nerve-Wrack Pack: Intense new courses designed for veteran players looking for new challenges.

  1. Nerve wrak pack is going to be the first I play because it looks hard and nintendo said it is for veterens only

  2. Seems kind of expensive. Almost $3 for 3 courses? I dunno, I will have to see my funds on my 3DS to see if it’d be worth it. Plus I already hit a million coins and 5 stared (*****) my file.

      1. That’d be the one I’d get. Definitely not the coin infested ones already having a million. Challenge A might be nice, but I’d rather have the nerve pack to truly see how hard it is.

    1. but it isn’t 3 dolars per course it’s 3 dollars for each pack of courses, I don’t know how many are in each though

      1. I didn’t say it was $3 per course, I said it was $3 for 3 courses (which is 1 pack). Which in coin rush a pack is composed of 3 courses. So you only get 3 levels for a little under $3.

  3. Frankly, I confess that I do not agree with ANY DLC content. Games should not have attachments released a posteriori. The very first time I saw this happening was with Mega Man 9, for Wiiware – OK, I’m pretty sure this issue is even older, but for me that one was a remarkable deception. It was such a pitty, because I could not explore the extended content if I did not spend more additional Wiiware points to do so. Come on, If I buy a game, I wish it in its full potential and completeness.

    1. Hey look, another idiot who thinks DLC existing = the game is not finished!

Despite the fact that its not the fucking case.

  4. screw this when is the 3ds getting a first perosn shooter i havent played mario bros 2 since it came out in august 19

  5. hey its only $2.50 in US? That’s not fair, it’s $3 each in Australia, and our dollar is doing better than the US atm!

I’m still going to get it though …
