Activison’s CEO Bobby Kotick has let slip that there’s one next generation console coming out next year to challenge Wii U. Speaking on a investment conference call Kotick said that he expects both consoles to be very successful. Do you think it will be the next Xbox, or the PlayStation 4?

It doesn’t matter the Ouya isn’t really a Console. It’s a streaming box. Your PC has an ouya built in. The Ouya will be lucky to make the same size impact as the Nokia Ngage or the Gizmondo. Competing against , Microsoft , Nintendo , Sony , PC , IOS etc it’s not really going to work is it.
The ouya is Not part of the big three Next Gen consoles. Not in my books anyway.

The Ouya is not a streaming box, like Onlive. The Ouya actually plays games on-system, using an Nvidia Tegra chipset. You clearly don’t know much about the system that you are hating on.

I wouldn’t underestimate the Tegra 3 chip. It’s better than your beloved wii or 3DS tech. The 12core gpu completely outperforms the pica200 in the 3DS and boost much more amazing graphics amd physics than any wii or 3DS game on the market (DEAD TRIGGER, SHADOWGUN WILD BLOOD). Nintendo and their fanboys say it’s not about power, so why shouldn’t it be successful if power doesn’t matter anyway? The Android operating system is also much more advanced and lighter than any other mobile OS. That’s not meant to be trolling but tje last generatio iPhone had more processing power than the wii and Apple devices are poor in terms of tech. If you don’t like it then don’t get it, don’t play it, don’t think about it, don’t get annoyed about it, ignore it and continue your life.
There is lots of different aspect to consider when weighing up tech. Could an Iphone Run ans store say Skyward sword ?? No.

The Ouya is a great opportunity for indie developers on a budget to develop games for a console (Yes, WiiU supports games developed in the Unity Engine, but that can still get pretty expensive for the average 1 or 2 person strong indie dev if you want the more advanced features). Power-wise, it’s technically better than the original Wii, so the ‘$99 piece of crap’ comment just makes you sound like you have no idea what you’re talking about.
To be honest, I’m looking foward to the Ouya, plus, the Tegra 3 chip inside the system is pretty tough and if you look at games such as ShadowGun, Dead Trigger and NOVA 3, it pretty much looks like a HD Console graphics.
So really the Ouya is looking good, plus its fully modable so people will probably hack it to play with the Wii U Gamepad in the future XD

It uses the Quad Core (well, technically 5 cores actually) Tegra 3 and outputs in HD. Sure it won’t challenge the WiiU in the slightest, but there’s no need to be glibly dismissive. It’s not too far off of Xbox 360 in terms of power, which is hardly something to scoff at.

I read that Ubisoft said Watchdogs is going to be released on the Playstation 3 and 4 next year. I do not know if this is true, though. But if it is, they’re probably referring to the Playstation 4.

Less power and lower spec doesn’t mean it can’t join the next generation of consoles (Look at the current Wii going up against 360 and PS3).
If Microsoft are unveiling the “720” it sounds way too rushed to be releasing so soon. Think of the marketing side of things…reveal at E3 then release 5 months later? They’ll be lucky to sell a few thousand globally. People need to plan and get their finances in order and prepare to upgrade etc

1st of all in his statement he didnt actually say next year. he just said their will be one coming out. 2nd If its true it has to be the PS4 since the 720 missed the production date for this year and got delayed till 2014. However I just dont see the PS4 happening. Sony NEEDS money not spend more money that they dont have trying to build a PS4…2 years from now they could be gone forever. PS3 finally started making money for them in 2011 so they need to SLOW DOWN and build up money not spend spend spend.

Unreal Engine 4 will be released in 2014 year (it will be maybe even delayed), Sony once said: “they will be the last”….. so, next Xbox is probably comming after Wii U but in 2014-15 year (star wars and unreal engine 4).

The Wii U’s already on my christmas list already. there may be newer and better consoles out next year or so, but for now, I’m sticking with my Wii, my 3DS, my iPod Touch, and my laptop. I’m just trading in my Wii console to get a Wii U.
