Nintendo Confirms New Super Mario Bros U Will Have DLC

New Super Mario Bros U producer Takashi Tekuza has confirmed in the latest Iwata Asks that the game will eventually receive downloadable content. Tekuza says that Nintendo are planning additional courses for the game, but refused to give a time frame. New Super Mario Bros U currently has an average review score of 84 on aggregation site, Metacritic.

“We’re trying to think of ways of play that are different from New Super Mario Bros. 2, but we haven’t made anything yet!”

I’m in Australia and I’m getting my games from the UK so would I be able to get DLC with my Australian Nintendo Network account? They both use PAL so I think it’s safe.

I don’t mean to be rude, but this was confirmed a about week ago. All the New Super Mario Bros. U boxes specifically list “Downloadable Content” as part of their Nintendo Network capabilities.

Interesting. I’d LOVE to see stages where the gamepad’s boost mode comes into play much more. Make more use of that boost mode. It’d be awesome if the DLC included new characters and skins for characters. That’s the kind of DLC I’d want. Plus even heavier challenges than the ones that are already put into the game.

  14. I am glad they are doing this. Since the game does not have online multiplayer, DLC will help keep the game fresh and replay-able for more months. I hope the DLC is great in this game.

I forgot to put a space! But I agree with you. DLC will not make this game gather some dust.
