Video streaming service Hulu Plus is now available on Nintendo’s Wii U. Hulu Plus users can watch television shows and movies on either their TV screen or the Wii U GamePad‘s 6.2-inch touchscreen. Hulu Plus subscribers must pay $7.99 a month, but a free one week trial is being offered to Wii U owners.

WiiU comes with a YouTube app, but you don’t really need it. The browser runs the YouTube site flawlessly and fast.

The YouTube and Netflix apps are already in the Wii U menu.

As long as I live, I’ll never understand why people wants to use their VIDEO GAME consoles to watch tv and movies? That’s what DVD and Blu-Ray players (and sattellte receivers etc). are for.

It’s more convenient. All of the movies and television shows I buy are digital, which is why I love the fact that the Wii U is going to support Amazon Instant Video. Plus even if I still used discs, I don’t have a blu-ray or DVD player and I would find it somewhat troublesome to have to do manage yet another device in my TV, especially since there’s already two other things occupying the HDMI ports.

I know this might sound weird but.. people are actually finding out that they can watch porn on their Wii U thanks to the HTML5 Tech…. does this mean we could be getting UPorn for the Wii U soon? XD

That’s great and all, but I’m still waiting for Hulu Plus on my 3DS. Didn’t they promise us it was coming like 2 years ago? We got Netflix on it, how much more complex can Hulu really be?

This doesn’t interest me that much but I’m still going to check out the trial.
