The Wii U managed to sell 40,000 units in the United Kingdom during the first 48 hours of the console going on sale. Sources have told MCV that the majority of stock that retailers had secured have sold out. Stock is apparently filtering through retail at a trickle but should pick up in the New Year. Sales of the console could have been higher if Nintendo had provided more stock.
More stock is definitley needed, but money is tight here, plus Christmas coming up, so i think the amount sold is unsurprising

Pretty sure it’s not true, i know it’s in stock in many places. It’s a bomba (though it has done absolutely fine in USA to be fair). BUT that’s good, Nintendo will go panic mode and we’ll get more stuff to hear soon at E3 (or before).

Its not the stock… We have plenty of wii Us here, but nobody cares for a 400 euro console (500+ bucks), that is nothing special from the current ones… Nintendo must face the truth. The earlier release of wii U in the US, gave us a very good sample of user comments and what wii U finally is… at least for me, does not appeal to me.
I dont decline the console, but if “as they say” its a next gen… prove it… lol

The current gen being the 8th one, which commenced on November 18th when the Wii U released.
Wii U is a last generation console comprised of mildly updated components: 1997 CPU architecture, 2008 GPU architecture and among other dated trinkets.
This console has been released several years too late and is prancing around calling itself “next generation”…

i got the piss ripped out of me at work for buying the wii u. one guy said it was for kiddie’s and another guy ironically asked if it was a new controller for the wii. same thing happened when i met up with my mate’s on saturday night, there was about 20 blokes taking the piss out of me and my mate who also got one.
