Today, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed 3 is the fastest-selling game in the company’s history, with total sell-through topping the 7 million mark worldwide just one month after its release. Fans have wasted no time exploring the game’s open world, and getting involved in the action-packed story.

In solo missions alone, players have accumulated more than 82 centuries of gaming time and committed more than 3 billion assassinations. The deadly action continues in the multiplayer, where more than twice as many players have joined the multiplayer mode compared to Assassin’s Creed Revelations. To date, more than 250 million assassinations have been performed in more than 5 billion multiplayer sessions.

“We are delighted with the performance of Assassin’s Creed III this Christmas. This is a beautiful and epic game of exceptional quality and we’re pleased that our fans have responded so well to the brand new universe, storyline and game experience.”

    1. I know right. I was so hyped, but god, its just not good at all :/

The balance is just stupid. I got to Sequence 11 before i even realised there were side missions, im dead serious, because the game doesnt set it up like in 2, because they dont even matter. I wish more games were like Infamous 1 and 2, were you HAVE to do side missions in order to get a main mission. You have to play about 30 side missions before you can finally upgrade anything, which has to be done by the most boring economy system in gaming.
Boston and New York are exactly the same, mostly open ground, and the frontier, while cool, was just barron. And the side missions require to walk back a forth forever. I mean it can a good 10 minutes to get half way through the frontier, but theres only 2-3 quick travels :|

The only thing i enjoyed were the Naval missions, and even then, there wasnt mich diversity in them at all

      1. I like it. The story is OK but it’s a bit cheesey. The gameplay is exceptional and so is the size of the Game. Naval missions are amazing. I don’t like how cheesey it is when you kill each main guy . they just keep saying ”Why did you kill me ? my intentions were good , I was just being ordered blah blah” and then Connor says ” oooooops! SPLAT!!”

      2. I think the main reason I’m enjoying it , is because I keep thinking ”god dammit I can’t wait to see a zelda game that looks even better than this running on my wiiu” .

It’s a good game. If I would of bought it for PS3 or 360 I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much. I’m suffering from Wiiu Beer Goggles…..

        1. If i wanted to imagine how good a Zelda would look on the WiiU, id just watch the Zelda tech demo. Or better still, close my eyes and imagine.
Id also save myself £40-50 in doing so.
Game is bad, probably the most disappointing of the year.

          1. I disagree. I like it for the Gameplay alone. I didn’t buy it to imagine what the next zelda was like either lol. I bought to play Assassins creed 3 , I’ve been holding out buying some third partty games on other platforms just so I have a shit load of games to play on wiiu.

And yeh , When you’re in that big luscious detailed forest , it makes me think ”How much better can the next zelda game be than this ?”

I would give the game about an 8/10. It’s technically very impressive how big it is etc. But the story is a bit shit and it’s buggy….

            1. I guess it depends on if you played the other games then. To anyone whos played AC before, this game is very disappointing, and still can knock AC2 off its tower. Gameplay wise, yeah, AC3 has the more diverse and polished, running through trees, sliding under small gaps are very nice subtle touches that i enjoyed, but the same is sooo similar to the others, and the character, and story, and generally what you do, is so boring, that its just not fun.

              1. I often get bored by the story , and think wow that’s cheesey. But the gameplay shines through , that’s all I’m really concerned about…

  1. so now we finally know.. if there were 7 million assassins in the world they’d be able to rot out half the world’s population in just a month! :O

  2. I’ve seen gameplay of these games and other hyped games were I just got plain bored.
The gameplay is stiff and mediocre at best, and the overall experience is “good” because of the game’s cutscenes and not gameplay.
That’s why I don’t buy these games, overhypdd hollywood crap with mediocre gaming at best.

  3. Wait…5 billion multiplayer sessions, and 250 million multiplayer assassinations…..
Did somebody get the math wrong?

  4. I lol’d at ”Exceptional Quality” , fair enough the Game is MASSIVE and detailed and pretty stunning all around. But this thing has more Bugs than a Brazilian Rainforest………..

  6. On a positive note, see what happens devs when a big franchise goes on all platforms including Wii U? Hopefully more games will follow AC3’s example and become successful.
