    1. Me too. I have played every main game in the series (1-4) and I hear that Yakuza 5 is supposed to be the best out of them all. Famitsu gave it perfect scores. I played the demo and even as short as it was, I loved it

I hope that SEGA localizes the HD collection and Yakuza 5.

  1. with the ps3’s install base… it should…. too bad no Wii U version, this could have added more on the hardware sales of the Wii u….

    1. Well, even though Yakuza is made by SEGA, it has always been a PlayStation series going from PS2, to PS3, to PSP. It would be strange for them to suddenly make it multiplatform.

The Wii U will have more games that sell the system though. I just needs time.

      1. Time is ALWAYS on our side, eh? I’m glad that Yakuza 5 is #1 in the charts and the Wii U’s debut at #1. Although the Japanese sales of the U is great, though it sells 100,000 more in the United States and Canada, there’s a great possibility the U will sell even more next week.

      2. Yes, I’m sure there are many gamers just waiting for super smash bros and mario kart, like me.

Of course I’ll get other games but I’m just waiting for those.

      3. There’s always a chance for them to make it multiplatform. Look at Tekken. Always on PlayStation consoles, but Tekken 6 is also on Xbox 360. It just depends on if it will sell for them or not.

    1. Yeh , it should be ”highly anticipated PS3 game Yakuza has a good launch week. Meanwhile 2-10 are all Nintendo platform games and look at dem hardware sales of 3DS and wiiu”…..

      Complete Nintendomination….

      1. Haha. Sure.

A Wii U game with a 100% attach rate (which is a practical impossibility ignoring 1:1 bundles, of which the Wii U has none) wouldn’t have beat Yakuza at 356k.

It’s like comparing the 163k opening of NSMB U to the 950k opening of NSMB Wii. Anyone with sense wouldn’t expect it.

      2. That’s not big news at all. Animal Crossing Sold 1 Million in a week physically and Digitally , that’s because the 3DS installed Base is Huge the same size of the PS3’s.

Monster Hunter and NSMBU sold exceptionally well per wiiu console…

          1. It’s not anti Nintendo though :S . OMG YAKUZA SOLD 350K copies. That’s not even a Massive figure for a japanese game. Like I said Animal crossing for the 3ds sold a Million in a week about 2-3 weeks ago.

Should there be a headline saying ”No wiiu launch title matched the sale of Animal Crossing on 3DS ” Seems retarded cus the wiiu sold 307K in a weekend which is really good and can’t exactly sell more games than there is hardware.

            This is retarded news.

            1. I never said it was anti Nintendo news, I just said it wasn’t pro Nintendo news. For game that isn’t Nintendo to top the charts is a pretty big and notable feat. Besides, Animal Crossing was kind of expected to sell that much anyway :P

              1. I know I know :). Bit people are spinning this news out of proportion in a little attempt to gain hits from stupid people.

The wiiu’s Launch Titles were MASSIVELY outsold by CoD blops2 and Just Dance for the wii in the west. It’s like duhhhhhh , there’s a lot more wii and ps3 and 360 owners right now….

    2. Agreed, and I bet money that these figures do not count digital downloads…so tired of all of these bullshit headlines that make the Wii U look bad…

    1. Yeah, they have a few popular franchises that usually do well. Yakuza is one of those. I just hope so much that it manages to make its way to the West (soon)!

  2. The first time the 3DS haven’t been #1 on the Japanese charts since it came out.

    U MAD VITA?

Joking aside, I would have thought that the vita would sell a bit better.

          1. kk :) . I think you will see a massive Vita Sales spike when PSO2 arrives. If there’s one thing the Japanese love nearly as much as Monster Hunter , It’s Phantasy Star online.

            1. Yeah, PSO2, Soul Sacrifice, God Eater 2, Dragon Ball vs One Piece (Project Versus J), Final Fantasy, Tales of Hearts R, Dead or Alive 5 Plus, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus, Muramasa, and some other games that I can’t talk about yet (but will be announced later this month going into the new year) should all give the Vita a nice boost.

              1. That’s a pretty impressive lis of games ! I’m getting more and more compelled to buy a vita right about now. I would buy one now but don’t have the spare time or cash right now. I mean I do have both those things , but I don’t aswell if you know what I mean.

I Keep saying to myself I will buy the Vita when PSO comes out and by then , there should be a mice back log of amazing games to buy….

                  1. It is bro!!!! PSO has been confirmed to come to USA and EU a long time ago. USA and EU will both share the same server unlike when they were split on the last PSO games.

100% confirmed. February Japan release and ”Early 2013” western release.

        1. Damn straight, next year in general looks fucking awesome.

          The Last of Us
          Dead Space 3
          Luigi’s Mansion 2
          Castlevania 3DS
          Castlevania LoS2
          Pikmin 3
          Animal Crossing 3DS
          Rayman Legends
          Tomb Raider
          Bioshock Infinite
          MGS Ground Zeroes
          DMC
          Dark Souls 2

And thats all before E3 announcements, splooge.

  3. Does anyone know if the monster hunter wii u bundle numbers count towards actual game sales?

Also if you sell more game bundle packages why doesn nintendo not offer like 3 different choices every 3 months kind of as a way to highlight different games. Like a limited time zombie U bonus pack or a COD pack something like that.

    1. Not in charts, although it all gets added up still, thats why Wii Sports is one of the “best selling” games of all time.

  4. It would have been pretty dismal if it didn’t outsell WiiU launch games given the massive gap in the current install bases.

Sega is still publishing games? ;p

          1. Thats true xD
I don’t see why they don’t just make it. They could literally start a kick starter and have it funded in about a week.

  5. good starting numbers for the Wii U. it should do pretty well in japan. also a nice boost for the 3DS and a small noticeable bump for most everything else. vita’s still just kind of floating face-down as if the holiday season isn’t happening

    1. ….I assume this is just personal conjecture, or is there some form of legitimate truth behind your statement? Just wondering.
