  1. Good numbers for Nintendo consoles, surprising to see original wii pulling off steady numbers with WiiU. Small bump for vita, no real interest in this system at all in Japan.

  2. Well of course it’s not going to sell brilliantly like the 3DS when there is much more stock everywhere for the 3DS than for the Wii U. Some consideration could’ve been taken into this fact.

    1. WELL SAID.

In the shops there is millions of 3DS’s just waiting to be bought.
The wiiu on the other hand , is struggling to be produced. You can’t just expect a magic million wiiu’s to just jump onto japanese shelves.

    2. More like WiiU has no games, the 3DS has established titles that people want to play and Japan loves handhelds more than anything.

      1. Well that too, but there is a very limited amount of Wii U’s because this is only very soon after the launch of the consoles. You can’t sell a console if there isn’t one to sell.

        1. Wii titles keep selling a lot. I bet that many people who bought the WiiU are buying and playing Wii games on it.

          1. That’s a good point. I mean, there’s a few games I’m looking for, most notably Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and Xenoblade Chronicles but can’t find them in any stores ):

    3. That, and it’s a handheld (a personal item that a lot more people will be inclined to buy) with a much larger library of games and selling at a lower price.

      1. Exactly. I just wish the actual articles wouldn’t make it seem as though the Wii U is doing worse than expected.

  3. Plus, the 3ds has some awesome games. It looks like AC had another fantastic week. Once the Wii U releases the Q1 2013 games, sales will pick up.

    1. The Vita hasn’t failed…. -.-

2013 is likely going to be a huge year for the Vita in Japan. Looking at just the Q1 release schedule, it has a good number of heavy hitters, especially in February and March.

Will it outsell the 3DS? Unlikely. Still, that doesn’t mean it cant be successful.

  5. 541 DS sold in Japan. Less and less DS hardware is being sold in all regions. The DS era is finally coming to an end D:

Favorite DS had to be the white DS Lite.

  6. the ps vita is and always will be a failure because nintendo is the big brother the first psp is outselling it the games are crap with the exeption of uncharted and littlebig planet. The 3ds is outselling the vita 30 to one.

    1. Uncharted a LBP are the only good games? Yeah …. Nope. There are plenty of good games on Vita and it’s set to get considerably stronger come 2013.

  7. Imagine the numbers…when Luigi’s Mansion 2 and the new Zelda game comes out in the future…
Hopefully they make a Metroid and F-Zero, would look great in 3D ^^ although F-Zero better for Wii U if they only make one game…

  8. The great great great grand father of the 3DS the Gameboy says hello! The great great grandfather, the SNES and the great great great grand father the NES, of the Wii U both say hello! to the competition :).

        1. it has, lol every kid and person knows a DS i remember when i just bought my DS it was a “weird thing” here in south america know everyone calls it DS or nintendo, just like they called the SNES, they called it Super nintendo or just nintendo :)
